Ahh.  Read wrong and that changes the answer!  I thought you meant between the two rings (hence $100 difference).  The difference between my e-ring $600 and our entire wedding (budget $12,000) is $11,400.

Hmm. Ok so this is spread out over a year. (We had a private wedding with just DH and I in NYC.) I’m also throwing in the cost of the things because without knowing my budget, I think it could be really easy to think that I have really expensive ring or something). I think it might be an easier question to gauge if you asked what proportion of their wedding their ring was. But here we go:

Ring cost: $900-$1000 (ball park including tax)

Wedding cost (5 day trip to NYC + wedding expenses for both of us) = $4000-4500 ish

Anniversary party/reception a year later (I don’t consider this part of the wedding, but since our families were not present at our wedding they do. So it’s a weird grey area) = $3000

So difference between ring & wedding: roughly $3100-3500

    Difference between ring & wedding/party: about $6,600

@mscuppycake:  You mean between the E-ring and actual wedding, not E-ring and W-ring, right? You might want to clarify a little bit for some others 🙂

@mscuppycake:  Also, E-ring: 1,800. Wedding: will be less than $1,000 if I play all my cards right, and so far I am!

So, difference of 800+, E-ring is more expensive.

@LeonardLady:  What kind of wedding are you having for less than $1000? We need to talk! lol. I’m trying like crazy to keep mine under $3000 and am having such a hard time!

Wedding = hopefully under the 7K mark.

Ring = 142$ for me, 40$ for him. We’re using our e-rings as wedding bands for the ceremony as well. Jewelry was not a priority in our budget, but we bought the rings we liked and they’re exactly what we were looking for.

We’re just going with the mentality it doesn’t matter the cost, all you need is the symbol, so it’s not worth breaking the bank at a time of our lives when we don’t have a lot of money. If we both want to upgrade later and have more expensive sets, we will.

I think a good estimate would be around $8,000 with the ring costing more.  we didn’t have a super large wedding and I saved a lot with being allowed to pick all my own venders for the venue. 🙂

This thread is so interesting! If I wasn’t lazy and cared more about math I’d punch in the numbers and make percentages.
