Alright…I want this from a plus sized girls perspective. I am a big girl. like 16/18 and 5′ 8″. I am planning on wearing vw351011 in blush with a lowered corset back and sweetheart neckline with some bling added to it in the skirt ruffles.
I really don’t want to look like a giant pink marshmellow. But I LOVE the dress.
I am planning this parisian haute couture themed affair.
Can you make it black tie if it’s a small (40 people total) guest list?
Help?? Ideas? All my BMs are plus sized, ranging from size 14-24. I am planning on that dress with blinged out accessories.
Any ideas? Help? I know this is vague. I have ideas…but my wedding planner/gay dad is hijacking everything I want ostrich feather centerpieces too btw, with flowers here and there!
Before I bring this towards the masses…opinions?? Ideas? Inspitation? HELP!

You can certainly make a small event black tie if you want to. No issues there. But the bridesmaid dress you picked, while beautiful, is no way near black tie. You would need a long formal dress for your girls to carry off black tie.
Love the sound of your pink dress. Would love to see it!

I agree with @chrispygal! I think your BM dresses are a too informal for black tie… You can really do whatever you want since it’s your wedding, but Black tie attire for guests means evening gowns for the women and tuxes for the men. Your dress is suitable for Black tie, but the BM dress you posted is more Cocktail Attire IMO.
I love your theme and ideas so far, though. For your theme, I envision either calla lillies or tons and tons of roses in monochromatic pale colors like white, ivory, blush, champagne, pale pink maybe with pearls and crystals mixed in. Oooh, you could arrive (or get away) in a posh vintage car like a Rolls Royce!
Back before David Tutera, Colin Cowie was THE big thing in wedding planning and I once saw a wedding he did that (I think) had a “pearl” theme… But I remember the colors were like black, cream, blush and gold/champagne. It was really luxe and like couture Parisian like you described. There was bubbly champage and pearls everywhere and tons of bling. It was so opulent and GORGEOUS!!!

I love that BM dress. I think it’s beautiful. I’m not a fan of long BM dresses. I think you could make it “formal” but not necessarily black tie and use those dresses.
I agree with PP that pale colors (blush, cream, ivory, champagne) would be the best colors.
A parisian wedding would have to include baguettes and champagne, and other lovely food.
You could include fleur de lis and candlelight, maybe a strolling violinist or accordian player. Also, stripes like the store front awnings.
Maybe you could incorporate your ostrich feathers into candleabras for your centerpieces.
Fleur de lis on the dance floor 🙂

“formal attire requested” or if its the black/white look you want– make it Black/White requested

That dress is pretty, but if you want black tie, you’ll want something like this:
(I bought it for myself for an opening night gala – it looked absolutely fabulous.)
