Can you give us an example of what he says/does? Maybe we could help you find a more constructive way to talk to him about it.

Was he telling the jokes to you?  That just seems odd to me…if you don’t mind me asking, how old is he?  And is this the only thing he’s “dense” about or do you have other examples?

ETA: I wonder how old he is because it might be more of a maturity thing then being “dense”

@blacktiebride01:I 100% understand where you are coming from, my SO is dense too. I mean really dense. This morning he was cleaning out his closet to take some things to the goodwill. Sounds noble, right? He begins to talk to me about how many hangers he has and wonders if he can collect them all and take them back to the dry cleaners guy. He insists that he will be able to get a discount on the dry cleaning. I explained that the cleaners get hangers for pennies on the dollar. He says he has 50 hangers so maybe he could get .50 off on his next dry cleaning bill. WTF? By the time you bind the hangers up and drive them 3 miles up the street you have lost time, energy and gas. This comes from an executive that works at a Fortune 500 company and is always rewarded for his leadership and results. I would like to see that man more often because once he comes home I get Mr. Dense…..I feel your pain!!!!

@blacktiebride01: It sounds like a maturity issue. 22 is an age where guys just really feed off that stuff. When he’s older, he’ll have wisened up and will hopefully listen to your feelings on the subject more. This is why I married someone who was 33 πŸ˜‰

@missfireslayer:lol…You are not rude. We literally had a 30 minute conversation about it until I got too frustrated. I love him dearly but I don’t think men are nearly as smart as women. I would not tell him that, but the time it takes him to process one thought, I’ve processed three and had lunch!

@blacktiebride01: I am kinda in the same boat! The boy definitely has a raunchy, goofy sense of humor while I’m more on the dry/refined side. First, my boy is almost 29 and he still does it, so I’m not sure if age is an issue or not?

Another thing (my mom told me this).. is people can really get to me quick and I have a hard time not letting it show. My little brother would antagonize me when we were younger and looking back, I know he just did it because he got a thrill getting a rise out of me. I know my boy loves me til the end, but I honesly think sometimes he does it on purpose just to get a reaction out of me! UGH! I have tried to just ignore it and honestly, things have gotten a bit better!

Good luck πŸ™‚

@Soladylike: ugh I hear you. DH got pissed at me cause I got 23 kills on Halo the other day while I was on the phone AND entertaining two toddlers πŸ™‚ SCORE!

@gocubbies: I am so the same way. I can get REALLY irritated with people especially if I spend a lot of time with them. It’s probably a good thing my husband is on shift at the fire department for 48 hours every week πŸ™‚
