In my religion, engagements are typically extremely short (2-3 months). So in between September (when FI and I got engaged) and now, 12 friends of mine (that’s 12 couples) got engaged after us and married before. I’m happy for them of course, but with every new wedding picture that gets stuffed in my face via facebook, the twinge of envy gets a little angrier.
I am happy that we have all this time to enjoy being engaged, and to take wedding planning a little slower than the mad dashes my friends suffered, but I want to put that dress on and be proclaimed man and wife already!!!!
Any waiting or engaged bees on the same page? Feel free to just rant, that’s the only reason I posted this haha. 🙂

@gangqinjia: Ahhh! I can only imagine you’re stress. I can’t relate, but you have every reason to rant on wb 🙂

I really enjoyed being engaged. It’s a nice feeling. Just desktop thinking about what others are doing.

I get jealous, too! My engagement time is 9 months, and I’ve had a friend who got engaged after me and married before me… and I was jealous for some reason. I stopped and thought, “You know, planning hasn’t been too stressful yet… I can’t imagine what it must be like for someone who was engaged a month.. Lucky I’m not her. 😉 “

I know exactly how you feel! I’ve felt really petty whenever I’ve gotten bent out of shape about it, so it’s nice to hear that someone else feels the same way. We got engaged in April of 2011, but decided on a two year engagement to wait until my fiance graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree. Since then, both of my fiance’s YOUNGER brothers got engaged and married. Did I mention that they also started dating my FSILs after H2Be and I started dating? AND to add insult to injury, one tried to take our date only in 2012, but ultimately decided to get married the week before. The other decided that Vegas was the perfect venue for their wedding after we told the whole family that we were having a destination wedding in Vegas! I know that I don’t own Vegas or the month of May, but it would’ve been nice to have had something about our wedding be different and special.
Rant aside, I’m a lot better now that we’re just a few months out from our wedding. I’ve had plenty of time to plan every detail and I know that it’s going to be an epic weekend. Plus, at the end of the day, I’m marrying my best buddy. That’s all that matters, right?

@gangqinjia: It’s only a few more months. I feel like I don’t have enough time left and my date is 2 weeks after yours. I am starting to feel real pressured.
