Cubeland here to.. chatty cathy nex row over wont shut the hell up. Talks and talks and talks.

That and my area 2 departments work hand in hand. I am trained for both depts. They switched me over to the original dept I started in due to 1 person was out all the time for FMLA due to accident, they moved her to my former dept.  Now that dept is slammed with work and now I am bounced back to “help out” my former dept. I feel like a freaking YO-YO….

@Creiddylad:  OMG we should do this everyday!  I was going to post a thread about my rant of the day but now there is no need!

I work in a small office with an elderly part-time co-worker.  She used to do my job, but clearly didn’t want it anymore because she would call in sick ALL THE TIME.  So we switched to were she is part time and I am full time, but she still doesn’t want to be here.  She conveniently doesn’t remember how to do any part of my job, even simple things like stamping something received on what date, scanning, printing mailing labels, things that are still expected of her.  in her part time position so really she does nothing but make more work for me.  Lately it’s been blatantly obvious that her hearing is also failing her and I have to repeat myself a bazillion times.  She just sits across the (small) room from me and come on I have to repeat myself enough as it is at home with DH….  Pretty sure the bosses only keep her around for when I’m sick/on vacation (which I don’t do because I come back to a HUGE mess) and because they feel bad for her struggling financially.

I was rear-ended at a red light on my way home from work on Monday. The insurance company (provincial mandatory company) will not pay the full amount of damage because the paint on my bumper was peeling before I got hit by some lady who was texting and driving. Her stupidity may end up costing me $425!

I’m trying to get her to pay direct without going through insurance, so I can get the full repair covered, but she’s not responding to me.

Put your damn cell phones away for 10 minutes and focus on the bloody road people!!!

It’s a silly rant but…I interviewed for an internal promotion last week.  I know who else interviewed, and I’m about 90% confident that I’ll get it.  My manager said I’d know either yesterday afternoon or today.  I know he’s already made his decision one way or the other, but I’m just waiting and it’s driving me crazy!  If I didn’t get it, fine, but let me know!!

My cat!!!!  Ughhhh, so we moved about 6 weeks ago into our new home and he marked the entire basement and now that we have made that off limits to him he is peeing outside of his litter box… not every time but whenever he chooses!  So frustrating b/c there’s not a whole heck of a lot i can do about it but my DH thinks I should be able to magically make the cat stop…..

I hate our bank. FI works comission and so his paycheques differ from one to another but are always in the same range. We have been banking at the same bank for 2 years, his paycheque is not direct deposit so he has to take it in, and has been doing so without any problem. The cheques have been written by the same person every 2 weeks and not a single cheque has bounced or come back NSF. Basically, the cheques are good.

He just paid his tuition this morning so did not have money in the account for rent, he went to deposit the cheque and the teller told him she would not, as it is “too much” and if she did she would hold it for “7 business days” as she did not feel comfortable. Now FI, probably looked grubby (he works outside all day, gets dirty) so the teller was probably thinking there was no way he was making as much as the cheque stated. When he asked if he could have $1200 in cash for rent today and to hold the rest she said no. He said to look into his account to see that all the other cheques had gone through and she said she did, and they did not. He said there was no way that is true, and she refused to check. He was furious and stormed off with the cheque and called me.

I called and spoke to the branch manager who apologized, looked into our account and said the cheque should have been cashed. We do have a hold but $1000 automatically goes through and on top, we had the rest available in overdraft to make the $1200 in rent. He asked FI to come back to the branch so he can personally apologize and make the transaction. But the first process took over 40 minutes and was a complete waste of FI’s time where he could have been out , completing jobs and making more money.

Needless to say, we will be changing banks.

I work in a small insurance agency as a receptionist, but apperently my new title is janitor, and office bitch. They think that i NEED this job and can treat me like crap. Little do they know this is just temporary until FI is done with school  in August and we are moving across state 🙂

Upstairs neighbors from hell (since we moved in). Have complained repeatedly to front office, called cops, talked to the neighbors directly, banged on ceiling, etc. Nothing stops them from stomping around, letting their kids tear back and forth from one end to the other, shrieking and screaming and laughing, what sounds like body slams or a 100-lb bowling ball being flung onto their floor (our ceiling), etc. I should NOT be able to feel the walls shuddering through our Tempur-Pedic foam mattress!

At my wits’ end as we cannot afford to move, can’t move to another unit, and can’t get peace and quiet (within reason, since I know kids aren’t naturally quiet, in many cases). 🙁

@Sweet_Tea:  One of my friends is going through this, too.  She had a recessed light fixture fall out of the ceiling!  Oh, apartment living!

This is a great idea: combine all of the rant threads into one.

We have 2 Boston Terriers that sleep in a pen next to our bed. My BFs family is in town from out of state and are staying with us. This morning, BF woke me up to say bye before work and told me that he didnt take the dogs out yet like usually would, as everyone in the living room was still asleep. Mildly annoyed, I said “it’s fine” and went back to sleep until my alarm went off 15 minutes later.

As I wake up, I smell something. I open my eyes and the two dogs are standing up in the pen, trying to hop out. I get up and look into the pen…and there is a shit.

Not at ALL a solid one, and not a little one either. This thing was about the size of my forearm. I took a picture of the above-mentioned shit, texted it to BF and said “I dont mind taking the dogs out, but did you not see THIS on their blanket prior to you leaving?”

He insists he didnt notice it, but I can tell by its…status…that it had been there probably overnight.

So I clean the damn thing up, start some laundry, take the dogs out (one of them had the runs…clearly) and was, of course, late to work.

When I walked in and my boss inquired as to why I was tardy, I decided to spare him and responded “traffic.”
