I call to order cupcakes with a Groupon I bought. It says 24 hr notice…Conversation was as follows:
Cake Lady- “Hello?”
Me- “I have a Groupon for cupcakes and would like to order some.”
Cake Lady- When would you like to pick them up?
Cake Lady- I’m not open on Saturday…would you like to pick them up Monday or Tuesday?
Me- Umm no I need them for Saturday and the Groupon did not state you weren’t open on Saturday. Would it be possible for them to be done today? (thinks- I could make freakin cupcakes in less than 24 hours myself)
Cake Lady- No, I need 24 hour notice. How’s Monday or Tuesday?
If I wanted cupcakes for those days, don’t you think I’d have asked for them that day?!

Did the groupon not link to a website or other information about her? I bought a photo groupon and while it didn’t say studio hours on it – there was a link to the website that states their hours. You always have to read before you buy, especially with a groupon.

er… are you ticked because they won’t change their policies and business hours for you?

I think this is unfortunately one of those “buyer beware” situations.
The store has 2 rules it seems:
24 hrs notice for cupcakes
Not open on Saturday
So, if you needed cupcakes for saturday, the order should have been placed Thursday for pick up on Friday.
With Groupon deals the onus falls on the purchaser to investigate the policies and hours of the offering business.
Unless the Groupon specifically said “Order Cupcakes Friday for Pick Up Saturday” deal… then it’s a learning experience for you.

@cora_123: No website actually. I’ve found that to be true for a lot of small businesses are me.
@rosworms: Not at all! I was just kinda shocked that she asked me again about Monday or Tuesday.
@KatNYC2011: No hours on it either
I will live without cupcakes. Just a small rant

@MlleBrielle: Also something I was wondering lol. There are plenty of other bakeries around me that I can go to on a Saturday.

That stinks. But on the brightside, you can have cupcakes during the week. They are just as delicious on a weekday! lol.

@MlleBrielle: In our region Saturday often bakeries are closed.
Sorry this happened but it doesnt sound that unreasonable in my mind.
