Weddingbee boards

SO, some of my friends are pretty… shall we say…. Loose, with their money. Well, a groupon (for those who don’t know what groupon is, it’s basically a website with really good deals on things, like coupons) Well – a groupon came out and it’s a 4 day trip, hotel and air fair included to Cabo san Lucas, Mexico – for $400!! They sent FI and I a text last night asking if we wanted to go in March (wedding is in May) and at first I was like “HECK NO!!! I cant even afford this wedding, there is NO way I could go on vacation!!” Well, FI said – ya know, “why don’t we go, and get married there!!!” all in all, he talked me into entertaining the idea. Waves crashing, close friends, and the love of my life. PERFECT!!! EVEN though I have already spent $6K on this wedding and I would loose pretty much ALLL of that… I was still willing… bc we still have More to pay and go anyway. (for the wedding)

AND we decided that if we did go and get married there, then we would just have a really small party when we got home.

SO – we began research. And we found out that you have to get a TON of things done in order to get married in Mexico. Including blood tests, and be IN MEXICO at least 4 business days BEFORE getting married and all this stuff. Well… that’s just not going to work out.

But now, FI is obsessed with wanting to go somewhere else and have a destination wedding/ elopement now.  Which is great and all, but we are so close to the actual thing and now that the bubble of the waves got crushed, im not feelin it anymore.

I mean, flights, hotels, PLANNING the actual wedding now would be more than saving the extra 2K we need for our wedding in 5 months!

However, it would be NIIIIIICE to just drop everything and run away. I am so absurdly stressed out with this wedding its sick!!

Have any of you given up, close to the actual day and just called it quits (weddingday quits) and eloped?? What did you family say??

BLEH!

And its not like I want to elope and still spend a ton of money. Ya know...I want to elope and spend a grand and it still be beautiful!! lol
