I had coworkers who saw my ring and make rude comments such as “Oh you should ask for an upgrade.”A lot of East Indian girls at my work place have 1.5c diamonds (totalling 3C) and these coworkers are comparing mine to theirs which pisses me off. They keep mentioning things like “Oh you should learn from these girls.”
I really think people should not comment on other people’s rings mainly because you don’t know the story behind it and how much it values to one person vs another. Perhaps those girls could afford huge carats but we really can’t tell the other C’s behind each setting.
Some diamonds are covered up so you can’t even see the entire diamond due to the setting. Another thing is that a round cut is more expensive than other cuts. Hearts and arrows cut is more expensive than a plain round cut. The value of the diamond such as Canadian ice diamonds is more expensive than other diamonds in the industry and it holds its value. People should just think before they speak. To be honest nobody can make the comparison because you don’t know the history behind that ring/diamond.
