My year wasn’t great overall.  This year was sort of icky for me actually.  Started out the first 4 months of the year working 70 hours a week while attempting to plan a wedding.  Was in constant pain and had to get 2 nerve blocks in my back while working the crazy hours.  Of course, the wedding keeps it from being completely horrible.  But then we have to move across the country and I have basically been alone for the past few months while my husband traveled for his job.  I haven’t made any friends here and it’s been really lonely.  I took too many classes this fall and was majorly stressed out.  And I had surgery 2 weeks ago and still don’t feel well which is putting me in a bad mood!  Ugh, hate being whiney!

2009 started out (on the 11th) with getting engaged, so it was a pretty awesome year. 🙂 For me personally, I also paid down lots of debt, bought a car and started planning out wedding, so despite small hurdles, it was a good year. I think 2010 will be a great year, I’m looking forward to it!

    I gave ’09 a 3.

Nothing bad happened to me, however I just grew more and more disappointed by my job. It was just an absolute BLAH year, nothing whatsoever eventful happened.

Now!!! 2010 is a whole other story, I will be (in order)….

-taking a trip to London (first trip overseas)

    -graduating

-QUITTING my job! (yaaaaaayyyy) or I truly hope I don’t but I’ll have to promote if I can’t find a job in my field.

    -Getting married

    -Honeymooning

    -*hopefully* getting a 2nd dog.

    I’m with Mr. Bee 2010 will be a 10.

it hasn’t been a bad year…just not great. Its been awesome in that we decided to get married and my nephew was born. BUT I’m kind of at that stage where I’m ready for bigger and better. I’m a semester away from finishing undergrad, hopefully going to grad school, getting married, probably getting a new job since I’m absolutely bored with my current one. Hopefully lots of change for 2010.

I gave my year an 8. I guess I’m pretty optimistic in general, so I usually rate things a little high. 😉

I had a lot of ups and downs in 2008 (getting engaged to my mom having a heart attack), so I was looking for a great year in 2009.  The wedding was pretty amazing and will always make 2009 a memorable year.  Also, I had a great year in school–getting a scholarship and a student teaching placement I am really excited about.  Also, my mom has recovered from her heart attack and is taking really good care of herself.  I think the main challenges this year have been financial–being back in school has made things a little challenging for us. Overall, I think it’s bene a great year and I’m looking forward to an even better 2010.

As a whole is was pretty darn good (knock on wood- 2 hours left), I’d rate it around an 8.  We had some terrific vacations this year and the engagement was awesome.  Wedding planning has been overwhelming on a frequent basis, but it has been a great creative outlet.  We both have made it through the year employed (although we have been unsure at times if we would end the year that way).

I’m definitely ready for ’10- the wedding, working on finding jobs more suited to our happiness, and starting a family hopefully shortly after the wedding!

    Happy New Year!!!

2007 was the worst year of my life (my father died, I had work visa problems, most of my good friends left Korea forever, I had a cancer scare, FI had a serious operation, money issues).  2008 was the long hard rebuilding year after the disasters of 2007. 2009 saw a great new job, a growth in savings, engagement, fabulous trip to Canada, trip to Hong Kong, my mother getting on her feet and moving on with her life, and finally being accepted as a FDIL by FI’s parents.  So despite the crazy year the world had, 2009 was pretty good.  But I’m most looking forward to being a 2010 bride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last half of the year has been incredibly rough for me. I’ve been going through some stuff with my business partner AND my FI. Seriously the first 6 months were a breeze because all I did was travel & get engaged. The first half of gets a 10, but the second half gets a NEGATIVE 5.

I’d rate 2009 a solid 3. Good riddance to ’09 (its alllmost over on the west coast)! And thankfully by the end of January my 2009 problems will be resolved. Woo 🙂

    I gave it a 10.

It was the best year of my life, honestly. I’m not a fan of New Year’s in general, but I was especially sad to see 2009 end. I don’t have much hope for 2010, I don’t like the direction the country is going in, the economy is still horrible, and I’m now searching for a new job and trying to pay off debt and save money in said crappy economy. I’m trying to be hopeful and optimistic for 2010, but it’s difficult.

@Bamm – 2007 was my worst year ever, as well! I hate that year!

I said 5.  Getting engaged was the high point, and it was a good year for our relationship, but other than that it was not the most awesome year (financially/ career/ healthwise).

This is what 2009 was for me:

<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>♥ Got married ♥ , went on honeymoon, graduated from law school, studied for the bar, took the bar, moved to Atlanta, passed the bar, made my photography business my full time job, helped the hubby start his law firm, got a dog. </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>I gave 2009 a 7, even though it seems like we had the perfect 10 year on the surface.  It was a very stressful year, and being financially independent from our parents after getting married in addition to graduating law school in the worst economy in recent history was not much fun.  We couldn’t find jobs, so we decided we’d make our own.  </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>I’d had a photography business on the side that I started while in law school, and things were picking up with it, so I took the plunge to pursue it full time.  I can’t tell you yet if it is worth it financially, but I do love what I do, and I know that is very important in the grand scheme of things.  Studying for the bar sucked BIG TIME.  Two and a half months of studying about 10 hours a day and not seeing each other because we studied in different places was brutal.  We’d talk for 5 minutes before we went to bed and that was about all we had the time and energy for.  We’re thrilled that we both passed the bar the first time and don’t have to repeat that monstrous situation ever again.  </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>My husband was very lucky and found a mentor who was willing to help guide him through the world of being a new lawyer.  They now share office space together (although they each maintain completely separate businesses) and they are a good match in the legal community.  </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>We got a Doberman puppy who is very cute, but also a HUGE handful. He recently ate over 100 rocks while at the dog park and had to have $2600 of surgery to have them removed.  We don’t know why or when he had the time to eat all the rocks while still playing around with the other dogs, but he did.  Training him has been a constant challenge, and I wish we’d gotten an older dog for our first pet together.  </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
<h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>In the end, we are still fortunate to have each other and although I know that 2010 will still be a financially challenging year (probably more so than 2009 when we were supported by our parents for 3/4 of the year) our businesses will be growing and we will be building a strong future together.  </h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”></h3>
    <h3 style=”font-size: 13px; color: #333333; font-weight: normal; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;”>Hooray for the New Year!!</h3>
