Hey all! I tried searching for this topic in previous threads but everything was at least four years old. Has anyone used or is considering using a videographer just for the raw footage and then editing on your own or with someone else later? I’d say I’m pretty good at editing videos myself, but would like someone to just capture the day. I’ve hired an awesome photographer and wasn’t even going to get a videographer but felt like this would be worth having for the future without breaking too much outside of my budget. I’d love to get your take on this and how much you spent either on a videographer with editing or videographer with just raw footage. THANKS BEES!

How were you going to get the footage from your friends and family? I’ve seen people use dropbox or wedding video apps like WeddingMix (which is what I am using).
I like the app because you get all the raw footage from your friends, and than editors create a wedding video from those videos and pictures.

Only a few years ago videographers were not giving the raw footage. Now it seems more and more are doing it. If you like editing your own, I would try to find someone that would agree to film and give you the footage. They have the better cameras and sound equipment and it would be worth it. I think not many people voted on this because not everyone knows how to edit their own or get a videographer to agree to only film it for an hourly wage.
