Can anyone give me advice on treating my dog swollen paw. First it started out red from her licking it. We started soaking it in epsom salt, but out of no where it started swelling. Can anyone give me advice?

I would take the dog to the vet ASAP… sounds like an infection that probably will need medical attention.

I know sometimes vets can be expensive. You can put Neosporin on it and wrap it with gauze sho she doesn’t continue to lick it. However, I would still highly suggest going to the vet

@agreen7732: Vet here – definitely take your pup to a vet. Swelling could be a sign of infection like PP mentioned, and if so, the sooner you get her antibiotics the better the recovery will be. Also, go by a pet supply store and get her and Ecollar (lampshade) to prevent her from licking it anymore. Good luck!

Hi there! I made an account just to reply to this. Sounds like an infection or a foxtail inside the paw. Same thing happened to my pup. PLEASE take her to the vet!
