Just a request to keep the titles of posts relatively uncluttered:
I noticed that this trend started becoming more noticeable a few months ago... and as it's become more common, more and more other users have started doing it. I guess if everyone is shouting, then you have to shout too just to be heard!

Thaaaaaaank you very much! Can we include trying to use proper punctuation in the body of the post too? There are a couple of members that I skim right over because I can't actually read what they're saying!
Also, this scared me. I thought there was something bad going on!
KMSull - We can't really dictate whether or not people use punctuation in the posts themselves... this request is more around the post titles, since those show up more on the community side of things!
@jhphi - I hope it doesn't seem like I am calling out any particular user! Crebre80's post titles tend to be normally capitalized and are fine.
We just ask that people use caps and punctuation in post titles in moderation. If something is EEEEEEEEE or !!!!!!!! worthy, then it's fine to include it in titles now and then.
My concern (and the reason I posted this) is that I noticed the all caps and punctuation was becoming more common - and some users were using it on every thread. That's the issue here - not occasional usage for emphasis.
Oh I know you can't dictate that people use proper punctuation...or punctuation period. I was just playing around, mostly. Also, glad to see you around, Mr. Bee!

I've been transitioning a lot of my responsibilities to our awesome Hostess and Moderator teams... so there may be a few posts about moderation related stuff on the boards over the next week or so. :-)
@mrbee -- lol I was just teasing, I know you weren't trying to call anyone in particular out. (And crebre is so fun and good-natured that I knew she wouldn't mind me talking about her hilarious EEEEEEEs.)
Thanks for posting about this-- it's very distracting with all the CAPS sometimes, and hard to read! Plus, it could make the community look "spammy," since board spammers do this all the time.
I totally agree, reading all caps lock posts give me a headache, even if it's just the title that's all in caps! (I do agree that an excited CAPS or !!! is needed every now and then, just not alll the time).
Yes yes yes and yes. All caps posts freak me out. Just sayin. All I can think of is when I had a computer class and the teacher emphasized that all caps = yelling, and then I picture whoever the poster is screaming out their post title (ok yeah, it is strange that I play these things out in my head). So, all I can then think is "STOP YELLING AT MEEEEEEEEEE!" 
Haha, ok there was a bit of sarcasm there, but yes yes Mr. Bee this is a really good point. It will make the post titles much easier to read and navigate. Thanks for bringing this up!

I'd also like to add (although I haven't seen it) that post titles with alternating capital letters are JUST as annoying...
Example:
wHaT Do YOu tHInK I sHoULd DO aBoUt ThIs?
Please refrain...
Even within a post, when people use all caps for no discernible reason (i.e., it almost seems they just didn't notice the caps lock was on) for a whole paragraph or post, it's incredibly annoying.
Mr Bee, you should sticky this topic for a few days so everyone sees it! We don't want it to become buried in the posts :) Good call though, thanks!

Thank you for posting this Mr. Bee! I too dislike when people are "yelling" on the boards. It catches my eye, sure, but it annoys me too. Thanks for letting everyone know they ought to back off these practices!

oohh im totally guilty of that. oops. I have a tendancy to hit caps lock and not fix it. sorry hive!!
good looking out Mr. bee! i usually skip the all cap titles that look like that in fear its some spammer on the board! lol

Sidebar---our school secretary used to send out emails in all CAPS b/c she had trouble seeing on her computer. Then, someone pointed out that it was assumed by the reader that they were 'yelling'. She got really embarrassed b/c sometimes those emails would have to deal with payments and other questions. She's not using all CAPS anymore.
