I do it sometimes, especially with the Brits and Aussies.

Nope. It would bother me if people automatically assumed I have a southern twang, so I don’t assume the same of others wherever they’re from. I think I just read it as if everybody actually knows how to speak correctly…versus having a southern twang, haha.

islandbabes AGHHAHAHAHA!! …well, funny thing is I’m not FROM where I live now. Have been here a few years…I’m from Alabama… and yes, you’re right TriciaAndDazzlingnot everyone from there has that southern twang, but I do. I tried to get rid of it when I moved here because it seemed everyone knew immediatly that I wasn’t from here. They even called me “Bama” for a long time….. but eventually I gave up……. gave up and gave in, ha! On that note, no, I do not sound like Paula Deen….Kiss

And no, OP, I don’t think I’ve ever done that before, lol…

@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie:  Ooo… do I have an american accent?

And I wouldn’t know if you were from the south or not because my American geography is poor.  But I do look to see 🙂

I have a Repost English accent.  Essentially people here say I don’t have an accent.  Like standard American, but standard English. (a bit like Emma Watson or Hugh Laurie)

I (hope) people read my posts in Helen Mirren’s voice XP  But no, typically no.

Ooo. I bet I’m confusing for some people, then. I live in England… but I’m not English. I’m definitely American and from the Midwest. I have a typical “non-accent” accent.

@MissBoPeep:  Me too, I don’t have the mental energy to create voices in my head!
