- Wedding: March 2013
My fiancee’ took a job with a company a year and a half ago in CT. He deployed to Kuwait in March. The company said they would take the loss on his home if he sold it. Well, fast forward to now and it still hasn’t sold. He also will transfer to the Charlotte office after he gets back. The real estate agent had the house in contract but he didn’t want to sign a contract or sell it while he’s deployed, plus there is no need in him selling it when we’ll need a place to stay once he gets back. He should have had her take it off the market as soon as he found out he would transfer, but that’s another story. Anyway, I’m living with my grandmother. His belongings are in storage, which is another expense. I would like to go ahead and move in the place since we’re still paying for it. He sent her an email asking for the key back two weeks ago. I have left her two messages but no response. I’m thinking she might be angry that he didn’t go through with the contract and she’s done with it. We would like to get the key back so we can least get back into the place. How can I get the key back if she doesn’t return our calls? Do I need to get a locksmith or does my fiancee have to do it? I have money to turn the utilities on but I don’t want to have another unnecessary expense. Any advice or suggestions?
