My FI and I watched it together last night (I kinda forced him) and it was so hysterical! He was like "This show is CRAZY!!" So did Caroline actually do it or was she just covering for Dina? I was kind of confused. This morning I was watching Bravo and guess what...there is going to be a full HOUR directors cut of the dinner tomorrow!! They're calling it "The Last Supper." They are definitley the craziest of all the Housewives I think.
LOL, watching the Housewives is my guilty pleasure! I love the OC ones, but I did catch the NJ finale last night too. I'm not too familiar with the characters, but they were a hoot! I think Danielle looks like a plastic mannequin (way too much botox and plastic surgery)! I think I like Teresa the best, though she is kinda crazy with her stage-mom thing. How are the others related?? I was trying to figure out the whole "family" thing among the other three!
Ok...I just explained the "family" thing to my FI last night. Here we go:
-Dina (the blonde) and Caroline (the red head) are sisters.
-Teresa (black hair) and Jaqueline (brown hair) are married to Dina and Caronline's brothers.
-Danielle is the non-related one.
Pretty sure that's it!
No, I'm STILL EMBARASSED about the real housewives of Atlanta. THESE WOMEN ARE NOT real representatives of that "lifestyle". They were imho an embarassment to the married and professional women of our city.
I wrote a long letter to the network about it btw.
I swear I thought I would just die when I saw that horrible blonde one (and I'm blonde btw) decide she was going to become a singer and all the catfights between them and the psueudo-work they do. Last straw was have one of them chosen as a housewife when she is supported by a MARRIED MAN. (the blonde one btw) A mistress is NOT a houseWIFE.

That one was about as bad as the housewife (again she was not a wife..just a golddigger and after a very ill man) from Orange County who dated on (and imho cheated on) her terminally ill fiancee. Grrrrrr.
I gave it a try again after that and watched both of those for a while, but go so angry I quit watching them.
I think she was covering up for Dina b/c she figured Danielle might pick a fight with Dina but not with her ( considering she's a bit bigger and could probably kick her butt) anyways, just like the Atlanta's wives these women do not represent all women - however, this is what Bravo goes for - however, like OC & NYC who do include working professional women - I would rather see that then these women walking around spending their husbands or boy toy's money seriously any day. And what's up with Teresa's husband paying everything in cash - Hope the I.R.S. comes knocking on their door. Totally uncontributing to society sort of people. And if I was from New Jersey or Atlanta, I'd be pissed to. But then again, I am sure if they film in Miami - which I would love to be a part of myself (although I am not shopping at Neiman everday or anything like that) showing real working women with real wives & career oriented is great - it helps busy women realize they can have a life beyond work & family! But im sure if they do Miami they are going to show the gold-digging mistresses as well (which you cant swing a Fendi purse around in Miami without hitting one - to quote Samantha sort of from SATC) Cant wait for next season whereever it maybe
My FH is super hooked especially on OC & NYC - The girls at his job even tell me how he gossips with them about it ( mind you he's a a guy guy - but cracks up at the hot messes these ladies get into) and their husbands are hilarious as well!
Ms. Guava: You're in luck! Sorta. There is a new show all about Miami premiering on Bravo next month I think. Not a "Housewives" show, but about hot people doing...hot things? I don't know. Looks fun, though!
I actually thing Caroline did bring the book around. I think Dina found it but Caroline brought into the salon or wherever it was. I think that Dina found it and was like "Oh my God!" but then was like whatever I don't trust this woman anyway. But Caroline brought it around.
I do have to say that I think that Danielle is very inappropriate and overly candid with her daughters. They even look uncomfortable! None of those young girls should have been around for the fight and I can't believe Danielle would start something like that in front of all the kids.
I read in an interview that Teresa said the part where her husband was paying in case was only a portion of the payment and that they paid for the stuff legitimately and its not like they have hundreds of thousands in cash lying around. I can't stand how Teresa dresses all 3 of her girls the same! I hate the matchy matchy thing lol!
I love NYC too, Bethenny cracks me up!

@EAQ219 - Yeah, its called Miami Social - actually one of the guys came on our law school's radio to promote the show or something - it is about business people however its all realtors & club promoters - I do plan on watching it (one of the girls was on Donald's Apprentice years back) however it just focuses on South Beach - which is what ever one outside of Miami often assume people in Miami do all day - party and go to the beach! I wish! LOL - But it could be fun!
Um I'm completely obsessed with Real Housewives of NJ and would like to posit something - I think that the entire "Last Supper" scene with the book was completely staged and this is why: I'll have to review the episode again (god bless DVR) but I don't remember Danielle or either of her daughters coming into the restaurant with a purse big enough to hold the book. Sooooo then where did the book come from? Could it be that the producers gave it Danielle and told her to put it on the table and make a scene? I think so. Because at the end of the day - this is TV and reality TV is only so "real" and that whole scene was amazing but it was totally contrived. I'm not against that because I was cracking up and loving it, but it was totally staged.
I watch all of the Housewives shows. I find them to be a good escape from reality and mindless fun.
About their relationships, I think that's almost right, EAQ219. Caroline and Dina are sisters (who I believe also married brothers). Jacqueline is married to their brother, Chris. Teresa is not related to any of the other gals, but just a friend. I believe she mentioned going to high school with the other ladies. Danielle isn't related to any of them, and from what it seems like, she's only really friends with Jacqueline.
As for last night, I think the whole thing was totally staged as far as Danielle bringing the book with her. Also, I could not believe that Danielle wanted her daughters to be in the room for that. Totally inappropriate. I wondered if a lot of the conflict between her and Dina was created by the show. In real life, I feel like those people wouldn't HAVE to be friends/hang out, so they wouldn't be as confrontational with one another.
Um did you guys see the look on Danielle's daughters' faces when she was showing them some of her "modeling" pictures? They were disgusted! I'm sorry but just because you have no man and no friends, doesn't mean you can have that open a relationship with your YOUNG children. If they were in their 20s - fine, OK. But they are so young! It really disgusts me. And every time she says "My daughters are my best friends" I feel so sorry for those girls. You can totally tell she completely relies on them because she has nobody else, and while that IS sad for her, she should know that it's not healthy for her kids. Also, she is a walking PSA for why Botox is awful.
Ugh I LOVE this show. This whole series is my very very guilty pleasure... I even rubbed off on my FH when, last summer, he called me in a frustrated stupor asking me if I'd seen "that Housewives show in Atlanta"..... which slayed me. He got SO into it, mostly because that one was batsh*t crazy.
I'm a gigantic fan of the NYC ladies.... but these Jersey gals sure are creeping up on the New Yawkahs!
BTW one of my friends is waiting for "Real Housewives of South Texas" and after hearing some of her stories, I am too!

One of the RHW of ATL lived near T. I kept hoping I'd run into her so I could tell her how they have negatively changed the perception of some women in ATL to the world.
Batsh*t crazy is mild...these were self-absorbed, borderline delusional women and the places they visited on the show? (the restaurants) I HAVE NEVER known of them or seen them. I get out pretty much too. My friends were like "WTF are they going to dinner at?"
The one who also killed me was the w of the xpro football player who HAD TO HAVE each day a makeup artist and hairstylist do her "look" before she could step one foot out of the house. There was one who was almost normal. The one who was a real estate agent (who actually worked somewhat) who had been married (I think ) to a rapper and now another x football player..she seemed somewhat normal.
I'm still waiting to run into one of them SOMEWHERE...and yes, politely I will give them my mind. I sure gave the network my mind and asked where the h*ll did they choose these idiots for the show?
They gave the world a negative taste of ATL women.
I appreciate your dedication to Hotlanta, Bellenga! I completely understand... they were horrible. My FH would watch in dazed frustration and amusement, all the while saying "I feel bad for their neighbors...!"

Teresa (typical Jersey girl and stage mom) has been friends with Dina for a long time. Not related.
Danielle (book chick with bad botox) is not related, nor seems to be friends with any of the ladies. Obviously not related either.

Did anyone catch the Real Housewives of NJ finale last night?
I have to say that (even though the dinner was obviously staged by producers), WHY would Danielle even bring the book? It was so inappropriate! I also love how Caroline totally fessed up, it made Danielle look even more ridiculous. I think Jacqueline is going to far with the whole "I need to be friends with everyone" thing. So what if Dina showed the book to Jacqueline? It doesn't mean she's the only one who showed it to other people. And, did they ever say what rumors Danielle was spreading about Dina? Teresa's spaz out was hysterical! I can't wait for the reunion show!
