Real with a fake backup! That way, you have both options covered. You can start with the real, then if that looks like it's going to fail, go for the fake.
Real with fake backup! You never know how it will work out. Always have a backup plan!
Of course real is more beautiful... but think of all the hugs you'll be getting. I've found that real flowers tend to get crushed pretty easily. Of course you could just switch to fake when that happens.
I made a fake one for about $1.50, but I'm absolutely in love with the purple one you've posted here!
What about feathers? oooo =]
You can get fake flowers made with fabrics so they look prettier than your traditional silk flower
Real with fake backup is my choice!
By the way...LOVE the purple flower
Real is of course ideal, but I'd be afraid of wilting. You don't have to worry about it if it was a fake one, where if its real, you would be wondering or asking other people if it was holding up.
I agree with the other posters. If real is what you want it should be fine... but if it comes to the point where it's just one less thing you don't want to worry about go for a fake one. There are some beautiful fake hair flowers out there that look real.
With your flowers I would say use a real because when I think of the fake hair flowers I imagine the big white ones with netting and tulle but I'm sure you could find something more "wild" on etsy.
The other thing to consider is how well a real flower will hold up. Do you plan on wearing it all day or just for the ceremony or recption? Just some things to consider :)
I say go with a fake flower! There are so many these days that look so real but have a little flare to them. Plus... wouldn't it be a nice keepsake to pass down?

If you can find a nice artifical one then i say go with it

I am really stuck on this. I feel like I would love to have a real flower in my hair for the wedding, but am also afraid the flowers I'm using won't really work that way or it will fall out or dry up or otherwise not work. FYI - I'm using "wildflower" style flowers grown locally, so I can't predict exactly what I'll have to choose from. Loving the fake hair flower trend, except I really don't like the way many artificial flowers look. I've thought about making a backup fake flower in case the real flowers don't work right. Has anyone tried using vintage scarves to make these? (attaching inspiration and flower photos)
