Does anyone have real pictures from their wedding or trying on Allure #8705? I ordered the dress last weekend but I'm dying to see real pictures of it and not just the model online!

Jenny if you could post them or send them to me (rebeccarockman@yahoo.com) that would be so great! The store where I ordered it wouldn't let us take pictures.

Check out this link.  They have pix from a runway type show with "real people" in the dresses...i think it's the first 2 pix?

    http://www.bridalguide.com/fashion/article.cfm?aID=25948

This website is where I found a "real" pic of my dress (#8701).  Hope it helps!

@elliej- thanks so much for the link! I was able to find my Allure dress on there. I have been searching for a "real life" picture of my dress, since the one they show on the Allure site model doesn't even look how the dress looks in person. Thanks!

EllieJ - the website you posted is great.  It's always different to see dresses on a real person vs the models.  No funky angles where you can't appreciate the dress.

I tried on and ordered this dress (Allure 8705) a little over a week ago.  It looks even better in person than the picture on the Allure website! I'm altering it a little bit to have a slightly sweetheart neckline! I love this dress and can't wait to wear it at our wedding in Mexico!

Thanks Jenny! I'm wearing the ivory and ordered the ivory as well.  The shop I went to didn't have it in white, but they showed me other Allure gowns in white..and they are VERY white.  I liked the softer white of the ivory, it was not yellow at all.

Only wearing the strapless bra I wore that day and I am wearing one of those skirt things underneath to give the bottom ruffles a little more volume.

Before I tried on dresses, I thought I hated sweetheart necklines, but the dress I tried on before this one was a sweetheart and I really liked it on.  So when I put on this dress, I knew it was "the one" but liked the neckline of the other dress better.  So when my consultant clipped the front of it and told me she could request it be made with a sweetheart neckline I was ecstatic! I don't know why, but just that small adjustment made me love the dress even more!  She said that it would have to be a very slight sweetheart so it wouldn't ruin the ruching of the fabric on the front, but I think it is definitely better! Hope it works out when it arrives!

The ruffles on your pics look different than on my pic...is it just me?

Jenny...yes, I ordered it to be made with the sweetheart neckline.  My consultant found a different Allure dress in their stock that had a light sweetheart neckline so she could give the vendor a neckline example for reference.  Not expecting the dress to arrive until Aug/Sept...so crossing my fingers it all comes out looking beautiful.  My consultant didn't have any resevations about it, she was very confident that the change would work.

I got this dress too! I paid $750 + $200 to rush order it so it would arrive within 2 months. I live abroad so I wanted to have the first alteration when i come visit in June. Do you mind sharing how much you guys paid for it? Also, did they take a hollow to hem measurement? I have to get the bottom custom cut for some reason which she also charge me another fee for...

I love the dress on everyone!  I got the same dress and got the phone call today that it is in!!  I CAN'T wait to go pick it up on Monday!  I ordered the March 23rd, exactly one month from today, but I am worried because they don't have any alteration appts open until June 7th which means I can't pick up my dress until June 24th which is 2 days before my wedding!  Not going to work, especially since I want to take bridal portraits. Also, the sample dress I tried on didn't have the flower and I didn't even know about it until I came home and googled my dress.  I wonder if my dress will have it on there. And I have been pondering the sweetheart neckline and I think I am going to go for it.

@washingtonbride...I paid $595 for mine and they didn't charge me a rush fee because they told me it "is an quick delivery dress from the Allure".

    @Roxy...LOOOOVE the belt...too bad I can't pull that off.

P.S.  What does everyone plan on wearing for jewelry?  I was going to wear my Grandma's pearl necklace, but it is 27 inches and, unfortunately, didn't look right at all.

Also, what do you plan on wearing under the dress?  (Hope that isn't too personal)  The consultant told me that I can't wear a bra so I am wondering about the other unmentionables.  I don't want to wear a spanx or anything like that because I am getting married outside, in Texas, in June.  It will be a tad on the warm side.  Plus, I can't remember how see thru the dress is.

You all look so beautiful!  Rudebaga, what style petticoat skirt did you wear... a trumpet or a-line? Where did you purchase one?  I love the sweetheart neckline, it looks fabulous on you.  Roxygirl, it's amazing how much that gorgeous belt takes that dress to a new level of glam!  To answer other questions, I think I'll be wearing my great-great grandmother's antique pearl and blue diamond necklace.  It's very simple and it will only add to the dress.

What shoes have you chosen?  Has anyone chosen a veil?  Congrats everyone!

tater668, the skirt I was wearing underneath the dress was a mermaid skirt..fitted through the waist and hip, flared out around the knees.  I was able to order it through the bridal shop I got my dress at.  It was $69.

You girls look great in this dress!  I was liking the christina wu 15417 but it was a little pricey and I wasn't loving the top of the dress.  I like that this is fitted, but has a train still, still has the ruffles I like, but is a little more understated on top which seems to even out the bottom that is more funky/non traditional.  I love the sweatheart alterationa and LOVE that belt, that would be the perfect addition!  Plus the price seems really great too.  Roxygirl would you be selling the belt after your wedding?  I hope I can find this dress to try on!  How tall is everyone who tried on this dress?  I'm only 5'2" and wanted a fitted waist that made me look taller but sometimes the mermaid fit makes people look short.  Is this considered mermaid?

p.s. the dress looks so much better on you guys than the model!

I bought this dress some time back already. . .

I'm so happy to see other brides wearing it :)

I truly love it. . . and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day!

so here is a pic when I first tried it on a sample 1-2 sizes smaller:

Real pictures of Allure #8705? : wedding allure 8705 P1100112b

I don't think I'll have a veil like the one in the picture. . .most probably it'll be a birdcage veil or just a facinator. . .

regarding jewelry, I have not really decided what I'll be wearing. . .

and btw, I'm just wearing a corset underneath, and the dress is ivory.

@cherimoya - I bought my dress at a bridal shop in Houston.  It took four weeks to get in.

I have a question for everyone...are you able to sit down in your dress???  I am not able to.  I think it is because of where the waist hits me.  Also, how is everyone wearing their hair?

I bought this dress and took off the flower and have added an amy kuschel luxe sash to go with it.  I am still deciding on whether to make it into a sweetheart neckline.  I have a question for the rest of you wearing it.... can it even be bustled?  We are getting married in a courtyard in the French Quarter and am now afraid it will drag all night and ruin the bottom.

Also, does anyone have any updated photos of themselves in it?

    Thanks!

It can be bustled (and it is still absolutely beautiful I must add).  I am going to what I hope will be my last fitting tomorrow and I will try to take a picture of it bustled for you.  Do you have a picture of your dress with the sash? That is something I didn't even think of.

i am still awaiting the sash to come in and then to be tacked onto the dress.  the sash has some beading, etc. on it.  i guess i just absolutely loved the bottom of the dress but wanted some "sparkle" to it, something special...and the sash did just that.  im adding the sash just below the bustline where the ruching changes direction.

Well, I was going to order a flower off of etsy but since I am having my bridal portraits done on Tuesday, I got this crazy idea to make my own flower.  I like this idea because I can add anything I want to the center to give my flower the look I want it to have.  And if it doesn't work out, then no flower for me.  And I am okay with that too.  Here is the tutorial I am going to try to follow. Seems easy enough but I have no DIY skills so wish me luck!

I tried this dress on  yesterday and fell in LOVE! I am waiting until my parents can come see it but I'm ready to order it - I wanted to wear it home!!

Is anyone planning on not wearing anything underneath? I wasn't going to wear anything but now with talks of bras and slips I'm wondering if I should be!

Wow. I think I'm a Maggie girl, but this dress is freaking FAB! Can I ask, how tall are you girls? I ask because I'm less than 5'2 and would think that this style on me would be overwhelming. I haven't gone shopping for a traditional wedding dress yet so what I think will look good on me, may not.

    I'm 5'2 too. . .

I'm looking for an undergarment, and I'm waiting for my shoes to arrive so I can do the alterations. . .

Probably they'll have to take from the sides, and "hem" it too. . .

but I'm totally excited because I finally found my perfect shoes :)

I am 5'7 I am only wearing shapewear because I want it to shape my booty a little better lol but other than that the dress is so well made that it gives you a really nice shape so if you don't want to wear it the don't!

I am going for my first fitting soon so I will have a way better picture :)

I am wearing purple shoes and love them!
