think i'm going with my natural nails, squared off, in a light pink/ taupe-ish color. Keeping it simple! I got acrylics for my sister's wedding and it was awkward holding the bouquet because i wasn't used to having longer nails! ha! But whatever you are comfortable with I think is the way to go!
I don't do fake nails except on very special occasions (like, 3 or 4 times in my life so far). Usually my natural nails are pretty nice and I rarely wear polish except a clear coat. However for the wedding I'll probably do a short fake french manicure. I really like the look of french manicures, and I know with my luck if I tried to go with real nails then I would end up breaking half of them the day before the wedding, lol.
I did fake nails for prom in high school and I HATED them! Yes at first they were nice but then they would get really disgusting and I would just want them off! I am just going to do either a natural color or a french manicure. Ive been growing my nails out - they wont be as long as they would if I wore acrylics, but I dont really care because thats not who I am anyways! I wish I could grow long nails though!
I have meh nails to begin with. I wound up with last-minute acrylics because we did our own floral arrangements two days before the wedding (gorgeous, but 22 centerpieces + boutinnieres = REALLY bad hands/nails). If you're doing any last-minute DIY projects, consider the toll it could take on your hands!
I went with acrylics because my nails broke a few weeks before the wedding. They simply wouldn't stay long and strong so I gave in. That was in May. Um, I still have acrylics on. I'm addicted to the polished look they give me, but I go for American acrylics now, so they aren't super white.
I have been using Nailtique to grow my nails out. It's the stuff they use at the salon and it works wonders. I am going to do a french on my nails.
I did natural, with a very sheer pink on them. I just dont like the look or feel of acrylics on me. I posted a link awhile back with a new type of acrylic though, let me see if i can find it.

Apparently they are super thin
I will go with natural nails. And they will probably be very short and square with a sheer pink polish. I hate my hands so I won't be taking any of the photographs featuring only my hands and rings.
I don't like the look or feel of fake nails, so I'm going with my natural nails... most likely in a ballet pink or other neutral color.
My natural nails are pretty healthy and long. I keep them up with manis myself..same for my toes. So, of course I'll continue to go natural. I am thinking that I will get them slightly squared with a french tip and a thin gold like between the white and clear and a rhinestone or two on certain nails.
I went with my natural nails and had them squared off with a french mani. I didn't want to put acrylic nails on because they are high maintenance for me and since my natural nails are nice and healthy, I didn't want to ruin them.
Natural with solid nuetral polish. I don't really like the look of acrylics.
my dad's a foot doctor... he tells me the crazy stuff that happens when people get fake nails and pedicures. (not that i didn't get a mani and pedi for wedding day, but it's the only time i've every done it!) still, my parents scared me away from ever getting fake nails because of the fungus and infections that can result... so i'd go natural. not worth it.
and i got light pink polish with sparkles. the lady really wanted to give me a french manicure when she heard it was for my wedding, but i love pink, so i wanted pink nails!
I'm always nature, I hate when the acrylics get all dirty or lift from the nail. And I love manicures which are so cheap here. But I think I'll be doing acrylic nails for the wedding/honeymoon with a very natural color. Just because I don't want to stress about breaking a nail. Or the polish chipping. I can't have them too long though or I'll be a mess lol.
I used to wear french tip acrylics religiously, but for some reason I got way burnt out on them. I keep mine clipped to the quick now because I'm always in messy paint, solvents, etc. For the wedding, I'll probably do a gel layer so the polish will stick, but they won't be long.
I had to do one fakie because I broke a nail the day before the wedding. The only bummer was that on our honeymoon I still had the danged thing on and it felt very inconvenient for all the hiking and activities we were doing. I eventually was able to tear it off, but it was kind of a pain!
I've never done fake nails, so I went with my real ones the day of the wedding :) I wore a white dress with black accessories (shoes, sash, etc.), and I did OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark as my nail color. I usually always go short and dark in fall/winter, so I stayed true to myself for the wedding :)
if u do fake, i would do the uv gel nails...they look real and last long (even for after the wedding thruogh the honeymoon!) they are a pain to get taken off, and can be expensive but theyre the most real looking and are the only fake nails i would do! :)
I think i'm leaving mine nautral with a clear/sheer polish. i'm not completely sure b/c i'm really worried about breaking/chipping/them just not looking right.
My natural nails are soooooo ugly. Damaged nail beds from broken fingers make my nails grow not normal.
My nail lady Lana is the best nail lady in the world. I do not have pink and white acrylics just clear acrylic and polish. My nails are also very short. My best friend even asked me the other day if I took my acrylics off...I didn't.
I have pretty nice nails and have never worn acrylics!
I will be doing au natural for the wedding. I will either do an american manicure or just buff them so they are all naturally shiny (without polish). My tips are already very naturally white so I may just buff them up!
@Miss Chapstick: I love Lincoln Park After Dark!!
I'm going with my natural nails (surprising, I once had an acrylics addiction and my nails are very short now) and maybe OPI's Dutch Tulips - or something with a pop of color that will go with my bouquet because I'm not a light pink/nude person and I'll trash a french manicure before the night is over....
I am doing a solid color on my real nails. Just a simple creamy white/pink by OPI... probably "Bubble Bath"
I'm sticking with my real nails. Like some PP's said - I'm using Nailtiques to help them grow stronger. I'm kind of anal about keeping my nails. They're not very strong but they grow really white, so it's tough to get a french manicure because they have to follow the natural line and it never looks right.
I usually bring my own nailpolish to the nail salon too, most places add thinners to the bottles, that's why manicures chip really easily. I use Sally Hanson Diamond Strength polish, it lasts forever. There's actually a color called "I Do" - I've worn it before and always get compliments on it.
I had acrylic put over my real nails....I have nice nails but really didn't want to deal with nail polish coming off at the wedding or on my honeymoon!
i wear super thin and short acrylics. i usually keep them painted super light and slightly see-through pink. i always get compliments that my nails are always perfect because people think they're natural. i dont tell them they're not, i just say thank you!
im not a huge fan of the long, red nails. im not even a huge fan of french these days. I love the look of short, well manicured nails but mine are so terrible i cant even do that. gotta love the mini acrylics.
I almost got acrylics, but my natural nails were long enough and I didn't want to have to worry about nail repairs on our honeymoon, so I just kept it real. (Yah, I went there, sorry!)

Good morning ladies!
Amongst the stresses of wedding planning, I find myself wondering about my nails. I know! Maybe I've gone over the edge. I'm just curious if you're going "all naturel" or if you're hunkering down and getting (or keeping) the acrylics?
Most of the year, I opt for the low maintenance acrylics, but take them off every once in a while to allow my nails to "breathe". I'm really starting to like the natural look, but need my nails in picture perfect shape and just don't know if they'll be at the point before my wedding.
Are you using a solid color, a French/American manicure, designs? What?! Just want some input. Thank you ladies!!
