I posted this in the "African American" section but I really mean it to be for anyone & everyone who wants to see.
I didn't want to hijack the photography/race discussion going on in the other board, but I've been thinking that there is just not enough ethnic diversity in the "real weddings" featured lately in many of the major wedding blogs (and magazines). I'd love to see some beautiful, well-photographed weddings with a little diversity!
I'm not going to post pictures (I can't seem to get the sizing right), but here are some favorites that come to mind:

this has remained one of my favorite slide shows for a long time. i know the bride and groom personally... and well they just rock and the wedding was a true reflection of her style and grace. she also owns an event planning service in the ny/nj area and is a stamping up demonstrator... pm me for any of her info if you'd like it :D

In tia and glens photos: the one where he has his hands in front of his mouth followed by him holding her hand and kissing it, OMG! The way he is looking at her just about made me cry!!!

Thanks! I'm taking piano lessons now with my daughter. I'm hoping to get good enough to play at my wedding. A friend found that picture and sent it to me because it made her think of me on my wedding day. It's a surprise for everyone (besides my friend that sent the pic - also the MOH and the day of coordinator).

I didn't even think about it until it was brought to my attention last night. I will be working on my website this week to add some of my BEAUTIFUL AA brides!!

I followed Jessica all the way through too... Beyond having a totally stunning wedding, she's just an all around really nice person and should be having a baby very soon! (I feel a kindred spirit because we both got pregnant right after our weddings!)

Man! Elton Anderson's work looks amazing! Too bad he's in FLA (I am sure any travel fees would eat up the fact that his pricing is exactly perfect for my budget!!). I would also love to support an AA businessman--esp. when what he is providing is exactly what I am looking for (not feeling like I am compromising anything!).
Oh well....hope you have great pics johnitta! Definitely share them once you get them-- I would love to see!!!
@money: i'd contact him and let him know your prices, you never know.... his custom packages start at 3k and that may include some travel wiggle room, you know?

@smitha5: Wow, that one is beautiful! That's the exact type of wedding I originally wanted... indoor/outdoor, lace dress, yellow accents... I love that one!
Sky & Carla photography's wedding portfolio has a lot of African American brides. I just love their work. I only wish they were within my budget. It would be my dream to have them as my wedding photographers.
