It's a cute idea and it makes announcing the birth a special occasion. I'm noticing those are becoming a lot more popular now. I did a variation of it for ours - I had a bakery make cupcakes and fill them with pink frosting (we're having a girl), but top them with chocolate frosting so no one could tell. It was fun to watch everyone cut into them and see their faces.
I am logging this away and doing it when we're preggo!!! Thanks!!!
That's a cute idea for revealing the sex! Lots of people are doing that now!
For my surprise baby shower, my husband came to me to tell me that the cake would tell us the gender even though we agreed we didn't want to know. I was so upset I almost sat in the baby room with a blindfold while everyone else found out the gender. He got me to go cut the cake with him with everyone around us and the cake was green. He totally tricked me, but I love that he did that.
Ha! Love that the cake was green! We were team green for #1 but hope to find out and do a small reveal party for #2. Come on, #2!
I love fun ways to let friends and family know!!
We had bibs made on etsy to let our parents know & they really loved it :)For the next baby I want to dress our DD up in a "big sister" outfit

Hi fellow bees! I saw the cutest thing on Cake Boss the other day. Someone came in wanting a cake made in either pink or blue for a "Gender Revealing Party". Not only were the guest to find out the sex of the baby, but the parents did too. What the mom-to-be did was have their ultrasound by the doctor placed in a sealed envelope. The ultrasound had the sex of the baby on it. Once the bakery opened the ultrasound and found out the sex of the baby, they baked a cake in either pink or blue. At the "reveal party", not only did the guests learn of the baby's sex, but the parents did too once they cut into the cake. The cake was made like a baby's bottom in a diaper with little legs and feet. It was so cute and such a neat and fun way to learn the sex, and celebrate the upcoming little one. I just had to share this fun idea with you all!
