Fiance has never been very neat and proper about his shaving techniques. He often lets it grow out and shaves about once a week, tops. I tried to get him into the habit of taking care of his facial hair, which goes every which way. I bought him an electric shaver, and one of those traditional safety razors (best gift btw if you’re looking for awesome gift ideas!). He finally started to regularily groom, and we found that the best shape for him was the “circle goatee”
Then, about 2 weeks ago, I came home to my ultimate horror! A CHINSTRAP goatee!!! ARGHHHH!!!! “Psycho theme song”
No offence to anyone whose SO’s are rocking the chinstrap style. I personally hate it! Not only does it remind me of my ex boyfriend who turned out to be the biggest asshole in the world, it just seems very ugly to me…especially when not maintained on a daily basis. It’s a recipe for disaster. It is something like this, just not as neat, a thicker chinstrap and a little messy:
I told Fiance before that I just HATE this facial style. It turns me off like I don’t even know what. I can’t really explain why. I just… ugh.
So, yesterday, I gently nudged him, I said, “Honey, you know you’re gonna look great no matter what, but why don’t we try this –> and I showed him Dale from Under the Dome. Hubba, hubba!
This style would really suit him, it is VERY easy to maintain, doesn’t require constant shaving, just a weekly trim, and a neck shave.
If I come home today to that chinstrap though, I am going to go bananas!
What about anyone else? Do you like your SO’s facial hair? Is there something that you suggest to him, or something that you wish he did differently regarding his shaving habits?
