I’m getting married in less than 68 days (I think?) and NONE of my our bridal party has their outfits. I’m about to go mad.

@Mrs.Maeby:  OMG. I’m so sorry that really sucks! If I was in the wedding party I think I’d be freaking out that I didn’t have the dress 1 week before!

Try to relax even tho I’m sure that’s really hard to do!

  Good luck

Honestly, I would just tell them no. Tell them it’s up to them, and if they can’t manage to be dressed properly, they aren’t in the bridal perty. Don’t let them extort clothes out of you.

I’m all about being upfront and honest.  I would tell both of them that you are a student, work part time, and are paying/helping pay for your own wedding.  You don’t have extra cash right now to bail them out.  I would be as nice and empathetic about it as possible, but still stick to them purchasing their outfits.  I don’t think your outfit costs and requests seem unreasonable.

EDIT: Sorry, OP, I didn’t see that you already posted with your response!  Good for you sticking to your guns.  Hope it all works out!! That is so stressful.

@Mrs.Maeby:  Wow I am so sorry! Taht would drive me nuts! It’s also why I was badgering my wedding party 6 months ago about their outfits.

@DeadUtopia:  I would not be able to handle that! I knew a wedding where most of the groomsmen and bridesmaids tried on their outfits for the first time the day before and/or the day of!! What if something went wrong?!

How ridiculous! I have a feeling I will be buying my younger sister’s outfit, though… But it’s different since I know that now, not a week before!

i had lots of problems getting my girls to get their dresses. one ended up buying differnt shoes and a shall thing. (and told me THE DAY OF MY WEDDING) and said to me “i hope this is okay”… Seriously??? I was so fed up with her i told her whatever…if she wants to stick out like a sore thumb then so be it! wish i would have told her to wear what everyone else is or dont participate!

its frusturating but it will all work out. i deff agree with @ProfessorGirl though!! Good luck!!

That is completely ridiculous, and I would definitely make them feel silly for even asking. My response would be something along the lines of, “I’m sorry, but the wedding is very soon so FI and I are dealing with thousands of dollars in deposits, finishing the seating chart, verifying final arrangements with our many vendors, making sure we have everything ready for the rehersal dinner, wedding, honeymoon…so I need you to figure out your outfit.”
