I dreaded dress shopping but it wasnt that bad. Went to Alfred Angelo drove 2 hrs for it and it was worth it! They really do love their plus size brides…every bride that came in while i was there was plus size…atleast 4 of them. I felt very comfortable…still not loving how i look in my dress but I think i look the best I can until losing weight. I got strapless gown and having side sleeves sewed in, hung fabric up to get an idea. what does everyone think?? i wanna hear if it looks bad!

That is a very pretty dress! I actually like it strapless on you better than with the sleeve…maybe it is because that fabric doesn’t seem to go with the rest of the dress.

I like the dress a lot but I’m not a huge fan of the sleeve.

The dress looks beautiful on you. I really like the sleeves.

The dress looks great on you!
I’ve always been very self-conscious of how I look in sleeveless tops due to my thick/chubby upper arms. However, I chose to go with thin straps on my wedding day because we thought that the sleeves brought more attention to that area. So, if you don’t want eyes to go to that part, I’d skip the sleeves. Just my two cents…

I second the sleeves, but for more practical reasons. If you really like to get your groove on like I do, I found that when I danced around the bridal salons (yes, like a total weirdo) sleeves like that hindered my moves 🙂

i think the dress looks beautiful on you, even w/out straps!! congrats!

That is a beautiful dress on you! However I think the side sleeves are a mistake. I have broad shoulders and troublesome upper arms so I get why you might think you need them. However, strapless is more flattering than you think. Without something to draw the eye to the area you might want to hide, people don’t really pay attention to that particular area. However, the side sleeves are going to make them zoom right in on it. I also think they don’t really go with the style of the dress. I could also totally be projecting my issues onto you, and if I am you should completely ignore that advice.
So, I think the dress is awesome, but if it were me I’d nix the side sleeves.
