TrueLove407:  Your ring is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!! And so is the band you would like to get to wear with it. I think they would look amazing together.

I have always wanted a diamond and sapphire band. In the beginning, I wanted one because I love the color blue. But, now I have an even better reason for it: My daughter’s birthday is in September! Last year, my DH was going to get a diamond and sapphire band for me for Christmas. But, I ended up falling head over heels for a totally different setting. We ended up getting that, instead. I have no regrets, as I absolutely love my ring. But (!!) I’m still hoping for that sapphire and diamond band one of these days!

Maybe something like this:

TrueLove407:  Sure — “twist” my arm for a picture! (Ha, ha — just kidding.) I probably post it way too often, but I’m always happy to share.

EDIT TO ADD: I think getting a band for each of your children is a fun and fantastic idea! I’m the mom of an “only”, but I thought about getting one for both my daughter and my husband. (Sapphire and Amethyst) Or maybe incorporating both of their stones into the band somehow. But I remain unsure of the blue/purple color combination.

TrueLove407:  Thank you so much! It is absolutely NOT like anything I ever thought I would love or want, but I fell hopelessly head-over-heels for it the first time I saw it.  I even took pictures of it with my mobile phone so that I could remember what the setting looked like. You know … for that elusive “someday” — ha, ha! Well, this setting haunted me. I even had dreams about it! So, a month or so later when DH offered to get it for me as a combo Christmas / anniversary present, I didn’t even hesitate. Ah … happy endings. (lol)

I’m glad to know it’s not just me struggling with the something-with-purple color combination. Sometimes, I think the blue and purple look great together. Other times, I don’t like it at all. And I’m not sure I would love it all the time. Also, I know my DH would tell me just to get our daughter’s stone in the band and not his. If I could figure out a way to incorporate both stones, it would be like wearing our whole family in my wedding set because my birthstone is diamond. So that would be kind of neat!

longtimemrs:  My daughter is an only as well. I love idea of having both her and my husband’s stones on a band. It would be aquamarine and sapphire. I would also like a band for each dog, because they are our for legged “kids” . You know, any excuse for more jewelry

I think the sapphire amethyst combination is very pretty!

Bridey77:  Yay for onlies!  Sometimes, I feel bad about having an only child. People can be pretty rude and callous about it. In our case, we weren’t able to have any more, even though we tried. But I also don’t see anything wrong with choosing to have an only child. I just wish society, in general, was less judgmental about life choices. (stepping off soap box now — lol)

Ooooh! Aquamarine and sapphire would be gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! And I totally agree with the excuse for more pretty jewelry.

I’m definitely back and forth with the sapphire/amethyst combo. One time, I look at it and love it. The next time, I feel lukewarm about it. And I don’t wear a lot of purple, which kind of makes me nervous … not that this should even matter. Pretty jewelry goes with anything! (says the person who wears her wedding set even with sweatpants ha, ha!) It probably doesn’t help that the pictures I’ve seen of the stones together are all computer generated — so not a very accurate depiction of the color. :/

Maybe something like this for sapphire and amethyst?

longtimemrs:  Maybe you should add your birthstone too? I totally feel you on the people and their comments thing. Why do people feel like personal life choices are open for comments from the peanut gallery?

Maybe you need a different design aesthetic? Amethyst accents wont be too overwhelming.

I love google….It’s like window shopping a million stores at once without the walking.
