@lilbear:  I think your best bet would be to hit BRU and test them out. The chances of one of the bees having your car and a very tall husband w a rear facing seat are low!

@lilbear:  BRU does not stock small car seats. I have a Honda civic and we got a Combi Coccoro. They’re relatively inexpensive and very compact. Plus they’re on the list of top ten safest car seats. I specifically got that one because after doing lots of research online, they can fit three across in a civic. I don’t plan to have three kids, but were expecting #2 and I’d like to at least have room for a back passenger in the car, that was the only way. My SO is 6’1 and he’s fit fine from the beginning.

We have a Honda Civic and my husband is 6’3″ so that’s pretty damn close!  We actually went with a carseat that snaps into the stroller (travel system) which is so convenient!  We have no problem fitting the three of us and 1-2 more people as needed.  We have not tried putting in the convertible carseat yet (baby is just about the size for it though!) but we have a Graco convertible which I am 99% sure is going to fit just fine!

@lilbear:

@Ninteenthchance:  I was just about to suggest the Coccoro. Thats what we’re most likely going to get, cause my FI drives a Mustang. Teeny back seat!

@lilbear:  are you still pregnant? I’d really suggest getting an infant seat because its VERY convenient. The maxi cosi mico fits well in the civic. I switched to the Coccoro when DD was 8 months.

@allyfally:  we love it!!! I plan to get another one when the new baby outgrows the baby seat

@Ninteenthchance:  How old is the baby you have in it now? My only reservation about it is it does seem very small, and I want to keep my kids rear facing as long as possible. Definitely until 2, and hopefully longer than that.

@allyfally:  she’s turning two in a few weeks and she’s only 28 lbs (she’s 80th percentile) I flipped her around at 1 though because she’s very tall and her legs were uncomfortable squished up in the seat. The Coccoro can be resurfacing to 33lbs though

My friend has their older model, you can fit three across the backseat, even in a honda civic. Definitely the smallest convertible seat I’ve found with excellent ratings.

ETA: You might want their angle adjuster if your front seats go way back too.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Accent which is pretty dang small, and we tried an Evenflo convertible that we just loved and it fit into the car, so long as we put in on my side of the car and not the driver side, since DB is 6’1. It’s safer on the passenger side anyway, so I don’t have an issue with that.
