Lately I’ve been taking up the task of collecting quotes from multiple vendors and yesterday a hair/makeup artist emailed me. She told me that for $250 my bridedmaids (5) and I can get our hair done and I can get my makeup done. If the girls want their makeup done it’s $15pp. I also asked about a hair/makeup trial and she said she can definitely do it, it would just be another $50.
Ive gotten my hair done professionally twice. Once for prom and once for the Marine Corps ball and I’m not really sure how much either cost, so I need advice. I’m still debating whether I’ll pay for it as a gift (probably) or split it up and have my girls pay for their own, but either way I don’t want to over pay.

That sounds very good to me!
Mine alone is costing $560 for hair and make-up (trial and on the day); if I wanted to pay for my bridesmaids it would cost me $240 PER bridesmaid (on the day only; no trial).
Even my local hair salon charges $80 for hair, without a trial, and that’s if you go to the salon.
So yeah, $250 sounds very good; I’d want to see her portfolio though and would def want a trial as it almost sounds TOO good.

I paid almost $1500 for hair and make up for me, my mother, four bridesmaids, and a flower girl. I think your price sounds great.

Those prices sound great. My hair and makeup alone will be around $175 + tip, each girl getting their hair done will be around $80. The bridesmaids are doing their own makeup but it would have been around $40 pp for them to get their makeup done. All the “bridal” stuff for me costs a little extra, but they spend more time on the bride to make sure it’s perfect. A trial would have cost me the same price as on the day, so another $175. We are all going in together to my usual salon. They do a really great job with bridal parties.

marinesfiance: Sounds good to me. It’s cost be about $80 to get my hair done alone when I was last a bridesmaid. Course I have thick hair and a lot of it. An updo (as the bride wanted) neede a lot of pins lol.

barbie86: abbie017: Ms_Purple: LarLa: Holy cow! That’s a lot of money..I knew it would be a pretty penny, but I can’t imagine paying anywhere near $1000. Luckily if it comes to that point I have a few beautician friends I can rely on. I’d just rather call upon a professional, you know? But yes, I will keep in contact with her and request a portfolio if I can’t find anything on her website. She did have some nice points to boast and has been doing hair/makeup for 23 years, though. Part of the ‘too good to be true’ aspect is that a lot of vendors in my city are honest with small town values. They’ve literally said they aren’t looking to make an easy buck on young brides, which I think is great. Going along with the good prices I’m seeming to find, my caterer is ~11pp which includes drinks AND centerpieces and my photographer is $900 with no extra cost for prints. I guess I’ve been having some good luck (:

arinesfiance: Awesome prices! I’m doing pretty good but my caterer is 24pp and I have a decorator on top of that. Photographer is 2300.

Those are great prices. My makeup is $100 and hair and makeup for the bridesmaids is $130 per person.
