We were able to score our DOC for free! She’s branching out on her own so she’s offering a few Cap. Region couples free DOC services in exchange for some reviews and pro pics to use on her site. We booked her last year and her promo was only good through the end of 2011 (I believe, could be wrong) but you could always contact her to inquire as to how much she’s going to be charging.
I can give a more accurate review of her services after our wedding but so far she’s been great. Her references are good and she seems to definitely know her stuff. Let me know if you’d like her contact info and I’d be happy to PM it to you.
Out of curiosity, where are you getting married? We live in Saratoga but I’m from the GF region.
@UpstateCait: We are getting married at the Hiland Park Country Club (http://www.hilandparkcc.com/) which is not far from Quaker Rd. I really like it there, and it was suprisingly affordable compared to most of the other venues I saw!
That's awesome that you got it for free! What a deal! I have been shocked how much some of these planners are asking! I would like to do it but I am NOT paying that much!
I'm going to a wedding in Lake George on June 30th I can check and see who she's used as a coordinator I know she's got one. Check back tommorrow!

@FutureMrsSitler: I know that place well. Great choice! And yes, the local DOC's really are surprisingly expensive.
Another thought, you could PM @thewheelsonthebus and ask her if she has any suggestions. She used to be a wedding coordinator in LG and I bet she could suggest someone. Good luck!
I found a couple people who are on the more reasonable side, so thought I would share.

Sheer Extravagance
These ones quoted me between $400-$600 for basic DOC, but they don't have as many if any reviews on WeddingWire. Still haven't decided if it's worth it or not, will keep you posted!

Hello Capital Region Brides!
So my mom and I thought that it would be a good idea to get a day of coordinator for the wedding, to avoid all the freaking out and stress on the wedding day. But the first couple estimates I have seen have been $1500!!! That seems ridiculous to me, that I plan an entire wedding and to pay someone that much just to keep things running smoothly for one day!
Has anyone found any more reasonable DOC's in the Capital Region? I was hoping for more like ~$500, but at this point anything less than a 1K would be better! (if it even exists!)
My parents live in Saratoga but the wedding is in Queensbury, so anyone around the area would be fine.
