**I truly do not think I am pregnant, as this is not the first time this has happened.**
Question: has anyone ever experienced a period being a month+ late that *wasnt* due to pregnancy?
-I am not on the pill yet, but we use condoms 100% of the time and use them properly.
-I have a large ovarian cyst, and my googling has lead me to believe this can interrupt the cycles.
-Typically I am pretty regular, but this happened around the same time last year: my period was a month late, so I guess you could say it basically did not come.
-I have gained about 20lbs in the past couple of months.
-I have made an OB/GYN appointment, but of course they couldnt get me in for a few weeks.
So, has anyone else ever experienced this? Do Bees know of any reasons a period would just not show up *other* than pregnancy?

Stress, change in workout routine, medical stuff. I have PCOS & I only have 4 period a year.

@badabing88: …I think I’m the opposite of you menstrually speaking…if I’m stressed, gain too much weight, get really sick or if the barometer nose dives…I get my period…its dumb….maybe your body does it the other way and just won’t…until smoother seas prevail.

@badabing88: My period was 3 weeks late once, and the only thing that my doctor could tell me was that it was likely stress related.

So many things…
I am currently 14 days late, and we are abstaining right now, so I have no idea why I’m so late. -.- it’s annoying.

@badabing88: Even if you don’t think you are pregnant, would it put your mind at ease to take a test? At least you could eliminate one reason why it is late pretty quickly.

Stress (completely stopped having periods during many of the most stressful semesters of college), as well as intense exercise have done it for me. I’m sure you’ve already POAS, just in case?

@hotpinkbride: @MrsCVsomeday: I actually have *not* taken a test yet, just because I feel so certain that’s not what it is :-/ I feel like they’re going to test me at the OB/GYN anyways, if it hasnt shown up by then….

Stress, weight loss, change in eating habits.
Sometimes, there isn’t a reason. I am on the pill and my period has been a few days late before.

@badabing88: Stress, weight gain/loss, your body being stupid…I have had this happen so many times and there appears to be no rhyme or reason.

I’m going to say this is the cause of the late period. Definitely get it checked out and ask if they can also evaluate you for PCOS (unexplained weight gain can be caused by PCOS.)

@beachbride1216: Interesting, I didnt know PCOS could make you gain weight…mine has been relatively sudden: I’ve been way more hungry than usual the last couple of months. The other night, I ate an entire jar of pickles and yesterday I drank a full jug of apple juice.

Stress and sickness are the most common.

As an aside, I find I can induce my period to arrive a little early by doing some serious cardio. I don’t know if that tends to work for you, but if I were wondering why it was late, I’d try it. The worst thing I figure could happen is getting exercise 🙂

@badabing88: When is your appointment? By nature I am an impatient person so there is no way I would be able to wait to test and be stuck wondering all that time!
