Ladieeeeesssss I’m married!!!
Everything went absolutely wonderfully. Because I was such a planaholic listmaker, and refiner of lists, and hander-outer of lists, literally everything went as close to perfect as I could have hoped. We had a couple little snaffoos, but they were so small they were completely insignificant in the bigger picture. Here’s a quick breakdown and some guest photos!
We made all our bouquets out of origami. We found out 3 days before the wedding one of my bridesmaids didn’t follow my instructions and her bouquet was 4 times larger than the other girls’ (comical!) I was very chill and gave her several options for how to handle it, including just getting a similar-color fake bouquet at Michaels. She chose to remake her entire bouquet in 3 days, that’s some serious love right there.
Then we find out the day before the wedding my sister has done the same thing. She also chose to remake hers and her and my dad stayed up most of the night before the wedding redoing it. God bless them. We were 5 for 7 though! Haha. The two that did theirs that week were half-bald but you couldn’t tell, they just held them against themselves.
DJ played the wrong version of the mother/son dance song, but I didn’t actually mind bc it was the version I liked better anyway. 😉
Limo to take us to the hotel after the reception was late. Not super late, but late. We didn’t do an exit and stayed until pretty much everyone was gone, so we basically just waited a few minutes with our immediate families for it to show up.
My dad got so fired up walking me down the aisle that he said “I do” in the middle of the officiant saying “Who gives this woman to be married to this man” so I nudged him and made him say it again. People laughed.
Even though my dad was beside himself with nerves before giving his speech, he did an awesome job. He didn’t actually finish it, because people started clapping in response to something he said and he panicked and gave the mic to the DJ. It was obvious what he was going to end with but I think it annoys him that he technically didn’t finish. :p
I forgot to take tissues down the aisle with me (I guess I thought I wouldn’t cry) and I cried on an off for the entire ceremony. Luckily my makeup just smudged a tiny bit and it wasn’t like tears-running-down-my-face crying.
Not a lot of people danced, but I was told that it felt so much like a reunion that everyone just wanted to talk to one another rather than dance, which is totally fine.
I mean seriously, everything else went perfectly. Our DOC said its the only wedding she’s ever done that ran ahead of schedule for the whole day, my photographers raved about how incredible the light was and how much time they had, everyone looked gorgeous and felt good, I was very calm, everything looked exactly how I pictured, the food was excellent, etc.
Here are some guest photos. We have a preview of our wedding photos up but I think I might wait for more before I upload any…I can’t decide!
