- Wedding: September 2014 - Sunset Hills Country Club
first off, yay! I’m married!
So my wedding day was perfect! Of course there were some mishaps, but I’ll get to those. The important thing is we went into the ceremony not married and we walked out man and wife! I’ve never been happier.
I stayed the night at my sister’s house the night before the wedding, so me and my now DH wouldn’t see each other the day of the wedding. My mom and I arrived to the venue a little after 11 because my hair stylist was meeting us there to do my hair and her daughter did my make up. Well, all my of my bridesmaids arrived and we all got ready and we spent the afternoon outside taking pictures, dodging the groom, so he wouldn’t see me. Then when it was showtime my dad walked me down the aisle and he fought back tears the whole way (which was pretty far because I walked down 2 flights of stairs for a grand entrance.) When we reached the bottom, and after my dad gave me away there was supposed to be a song then the prayer but the dj wasn’t paying attention so we waited like 30 seconds and she didn’t play the song so the prayer started, as soon as the prayer began she started playing the song (Lifehouse- You and Me) then towards the end of the prayer she turned the volume up on the song. It was so loud that our officiant, Father David, yelled, “Can somebody ask her to turn that music down?” She turned it off. Haha. Well after that the wedding went through seamlessly.
we wrote our own vows and he cried while reading his to me, and before the vows, after the prayer, he whispered to me “I like your shoes” and Father David whispered “huh?” So Chris said “I like her shoes.” It was just a cute little exchange. Father David talked us through every step and it was perfect. Though, the wedding was outside and some flying bugs did decide to chow down on us during it.
The reception was extremely awkward. People were leaving early and everytime I tried to sit down someone else would ask me to come over. Finally, Chris just came and got me so I could try to eat, but as soon as I sat down I had a line of well wishers. The dj didn’t listen to us when we told her what music we like and she played everything we don’t like lol. so even though there were mishaps, it was still a perfect day. I wouldn’t trade anything for how the day played out.
