We're working on the registry over Thanksgiving. Which Kitchen Aid mixer do you have? Do you love it? Wish you would have upgraded?

I'm a big baker, and FI is a great cook! Pumpkin cheesecake pie is in the oven now...

Thanks Crebre! Now if only I could narrow it down to one color. I want the red, the silver and the apple green... Too much?

I have the Cinnamon Gloss Artisan Kitchenaid mixer.  And yes I love it.  I wanted a red mixer but I had thought the normal red was just a little too bright.  The cinnamon color is great because it's a little more muted.  The mixer works so well too.  It mashes potatoes in 10 seconds!

I FRIGGIN' LOVE THE RED!! it does it for me in its glossy new car-ish-ness appeal... it reminds me of a 1957 thunderbird color and feels so fabulously vintagey!!

Get the big one. If you love to bake, you will not regret it. I can't remember the model number, but it fits 4 cake mixes and is very heavy duty. I use mine all the time. I think it is a 6 quart.

I have an Onyx Artisan series KitchenAid standmixer and I love it! I would also recommend having an extra bowl. It's really nice to be able to have two things going at once if need be.

The only thing I don't like about mine is the color - it tends to show dust pretty quickly, so I have to wipe it down everyday. Otherwise, it's great!

We got ours for Christmas last year...and we absolutely love it.  My FI's mom got an amazing deal on it so we have the Professional 600...so much power...to be honest we haven't gone over speed 4 yet hah...I think we have it in Nickel Pearl, Or Pearl Metallic...its the perfect "go with everything" colour.

    Here it is:

Even though this sounds really dumb, I HATE my professional one. It's a pain in the butt. I really really prefer the one with the tilt-back head. Just my warning. :p I have a pro one, but we're registering for a regular one because it's such a pain. :p

The bowl getting in and out is a hassle. The plasting guard thing that you put on the top shaps into place, but it doesn't go around the back, so it fluffs out powder via the back. Also, since it's not all the way around, it warps MUCH more easily than the other. Also just the lifting up and down can be a pain. It's harder to get the attachments in and out. When I'm back at my apt, I can take a few pictures of the pain in the butt parts. :p

PSA: Costco has them on sale.  At least here in Seattle they are.

I have the red Pro-610, and I'm really happy with it. I grew up using my mom's, from the 1980s, with a tilt-back head, and I always had problems with batter dripping everywhere when I lifted the head (or flying everywhere if I lifted it fast!), so for me, although the bowl lift is a little bit of a hassle, I prefer it because of the dripping issue.

I'd go with red or silver rather than apple green, which strikes me as a little trendy... your Kitchenaid will be with you for decades.  My mom still has hers, and my parents have been married almost 30 years! Hers is white, so *no* chance of clashing with the color scheme. I went with red, which is trickier, but I've always loved red kitchen accents.

The colors ones are SO pretty and shiny, but I honestly recommend you get a silver, white, or black one. They're much easier to match with things and won't clash with wherever you end up living. Plus, if you chip the enamel (it can happen!), it'll be easier to cover up.

50, I've heard that about the pro ones! I used my managers before I got mine and it was SO obnoxious! So when my mom asked me if I wanted that kind, I was like "uh.... nooooo?" She was bummed, but I'm so glad I didn't.

i absolutely love mine. i love baking and it is the best! :)

i have an older model so it's a little smaller. i would definitely suggest getting the larger bowl. i like that mine tilts back but i took some culinary classes and we used the ones with a lever that lifted the bowl up or down. i like both styles.
