We will be paying our band in cash on the day of the wedding. We have a signed contract with them and have paid a deposit, and the remainder needs to be paid the day of. We’ve agreed that they will give us a receipt when we make the payment, but I’d like to have one ready for them to sign in case they don’t remember to bring one. Does anyone have a template they used for something like this? I’m just not sure what it should look like, but want to make sure I have proof that we’ve made our payment.

I would pay with a money order. That way they know the funds are good and you don’t have to worry about a reciept.

You can get a two-copy receipt book for about $4 at Staples or Walgreens. There’s a top and bottom sheet, write in the top and it makes a carbon copy on the bottom, so everyone has an identical receipt with all the signatures on it.

There is also the option of a cashier’s check. My bank will issue them at no charge to me, so you should check into that. It’s essentially a money order, but you might not have to pay the fee!

We paid our despoit for the band with a cashier’s check, and will more than likely be paying the rest of it with one as well – just to be safe. And actually, the band preferred getting a chasier’s check.
