Receipt for cash paid to wedding vendors on day of wedding

I would pay with a money order.  That way they know the funds are good and you don’t have to worry about a reciept.

You can get a two-copy receipt book for about $4 at Staples or Walgreens. There’s a top and bottom sheet, write in the top and it makes a carbon copy on the bottom, so everyone has an identical receipt with all the signatures on it.

There is also the option of a cashier’s check. My bank will issue them at no charge to me, so you should check into that. It’s essentially a money order, but you might not have to pay the fee!

We paid our despoit for the band with a cashier’s check, and will more than likely be paying the rest of it with one as well – just to be safe. And actually, the band preferred getting a chasier’s check.
