We've always done them after the introduction of the bridal party and the bride and groom at the reception hall.
We have a similar time line and are inserting the receiving line immediately following the ceremony but prior to photos.
@firemuffy: When you introduce your wedding party, aren't your guests already sitting? Then you have them stand up and line up to greet the bride and groom?
Typically imediately after ceremony. You are first out of the church, and are first in the line at the door. Since your parents are in the frst pews, they are second out of the church and fall immediately behind you. BP is not in the receiving line. So after ceremony, prior to photos/reception.
We arent doing one. We'll say hi during cocktail hour, that owuld be excruciating to me

I am getting married at a church, taking pictures after, and then heading to the reception site. When do you do a receiving line?
