I am writing out word for word what my Justice of the Peace should say at the ceremony.
I would like her to mention at the very end that we would like everyone to come up for our receiving line.
Any ideas of how we should word this?

Are you having the receiving line at the ceremony site or at the reception site? Will it be a “formal” receiving line? Or will guests come say hi as they please? Your wording can communicate the feel and purpose of the receiving line, too, as some wonder what receiving lines are for. Maybe something like…
“The couple and their parents would like a chance to formally, but briefly meet each of the guests. They request that the guests would come up to/assemble/approach the receiving line ___(location of receiving line)___ immediately after the ceremony/at some point during the cocktail hour/as they enter the reception.”

Thanks, that helps!
My wedding and reception are at the same place/same room.
Your idea helps though, I might move it around a bit to suit us!

We just had our officiant say “The bride and groom will be having a formal receiving line following the ceremony”. But ours was pretty easy because we were married in a church so they sort of had to go through the receiving line to get out : )
Where are you getting married? I’m from Chelmsford, MA and my wedding was in Groton.
