Hive–I am an old bride. Maybe older than some of the young’uns mothers. None of my BMs have been in a wedding in 15 years. Everybody but one is a mom of young children. Here is my questions about gifts:
I am getting them pashmina-type wraps and manicures. I would like to get them jewelry but feel cheap getting them “day of” jewelry. Depending on the cost of wraps and jewels I may also get a monogrammed tote from Ballard.
Are you OK with “day of” jewelry or should I go for something more personal? Am I totally off base on the gifts?
I am open to all thoughts and suggestions!

I think day of jewelry is nice. I tried to find something that could be worn again. One wedding I was in got day of jewelry that was like the cheapest stuff she could find on the internet (lower quality than like Clair’s).

i think day of jewelry is a nice gift and have received such jewelry in 3 weddings that i have been in, one which was handmade and 2 which were super nice pieces that i have worn several times, as long as they can wear it again i think it’s a great idea.

When I’ve been a bridesmaid(twice), I’ve gotten hair or nails or makeup or some combo paid for as well as jewelry. For one wedding, that jewelry was very re-wearable, and for another it really only worked with the dress/formalwear. I was perfectly happy with both gifts. Your bridesmaids are women who love and support you. They will be happy with your gift, regardless. As long as you aren’t being super demanding on their time or finances (like insisting on a destination bachelorette party or a $200 plus dress, or dozens of hours of DYI etc), your gifts sound perfect.

I think it depends on the jewelry. I would just try to personalize it to everyone’s style. I know I have some jewelry that just sits there b/c it’s just not me, but I also have stuff that I love.

i’m fine with jewelry, esp if you want them all to match and they’d, otherwise, have to buy their jewelry.
I was recently (June) a Bridesmaid or Best Man and got a clutch from Etsy, necklace & braclette to wear day of, and a $20 card to Starbucks.
For my BMs, i’m letting them pick their own jewelry and getting them their flower/feather hair piece, non-wedding related jewlery, and a tote bag … so similar to what you’re doing.

in most weddings I have been in I received day of jewlewry & I thought it was a nice gift. I gave my girls day of jewlery, parasol, and monogramed robe that we wore while getting ready.
