I would just add one line saying "Reception to follow immediately"
Then people will know the reception is in the same place!
If you are not have kids at your wedding this is a good place to write "Adult Reception to follow"
I don't have a reception card for my wedding either- I just wrote "reception immediately following"
I don't think you really need a seperate card unless the reception is hours after or in another location where they will have to travel
What information would you put on the card if you did have one?
Yup, just add a line at the bottom that says "Reception Immediately Following".. if you want something a little more fun and less formal you can say something like "Dinner and Dancing to Follow"
Honestly, I didn't feel like paying an extra fee for the reception card so I made them myself. I just printed them off on business cards (super cheap Avery style from Walmart) and put them in the invitations. I also included our wedding website on the reception card, and it seems to have worked, because lots of folks have visited it and our registry!
Our invitations say something like this:
A and B
request the pleasure of your company
as they exchange marriage vows
on Saturday, the fourth of September two thousand ten
at five o’clock in the evening
Address of the place, etc
And afterward for brunch
Name of the place
Thanks ladies! I appreciate it!
Now I'm wondering about the wedding website, I put it on the Save the Dates, but not sure if/where to put it on the invites.
We did not include our website on the formal invitations.. and it has never been included on an invitation I've received.. only on the Save the Dates.
I printed out little business card size cards that said "Please visit our wedding website at ..." and included them with the formal invitation. We didn't send Save the Dates except to family and out of towners, so we wanted to be sure locals had the website as well. Maybe you could do that? Very easy to DIY. And unless you're having a very casual wedding, putting the website on the invitation itself doesn't seem appropriate.

hello bees,
I'm working on my so dreaded invites. I got a kit from Michaels and it included the invite, envelope, response card and envelope for that. I am now stuck at where to put reception information. I don't really want to add an extra card 1. because it won't match 2. that's more work ;)
SO, what I'm wondering is how do I say there is a reception. On the invite is just says" A and B
request the pleasure of your company
as they exchange marriage vows
on Saturday, the fourth of September two thousand ten
at five o’clock in the evening
Address of the place, etc"
Should I put after the address of the place "reception to follow" or "our wedding website address"
Our reception is at the same place as the ceremony, no one has to go anywhere else, but I'm stuck.
