Ok first things first- will you be losing your desposit? If so how much? And what is in your signed contract?
Also the other location-do they have your date available?
More importantly what is the price difference in the two venues that you are looking at? I know you want your quest to enjoy themselves-but you have to think about your wallet also.
Either way I'm sure everyone will enjoy themselves.
But wait- you like the Inn better than the shore!! There is your answer. It is your day.

Hi brides to be--- Hopefully you can shed some light on my reception choice- I feel like I am going crazy trying to decide.
I have already booked a Friday night wedding at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge for June. I love the place as it has the inn (very convenient for our many OOT guests- about 75 out of 130) and it has the outdoor cocktail area and a garden feel. But now I am thinking that I really want it down the shore (I'm such a Jersey shore lover). But I also think it would be great b/c there would be something for the OOT guests to do. The more I think about it the more I realize they wouldn't have anything to do in Basking Ridge. The one problem is that there is only a Sunday availability at the shore venue. That's ok since they then wouldn't have to take off Thur & Fri llike they would for the other wedding- just Monday. And it would actually cost less since the venue is a little less with the Sunday discount and I wouldn't have to provide transportation down the shore like I would up in Basking Ridge b/c the church is right around the corner from the reception venue. I am contending with: a) hopefully I can get my deposit back from the first place I booked and b) I am afraid people don't have as much fun at a Sunday wedding. Both will be beautiful- as I really love the Olde Mill Inn (more than the shore venue) but I think a whole weekend down the shore would be a blast for the guests (most of who have never seent he jersey shore). Any thoughts? does anyone have input: a Friday wedding in the middle of nowhere or a Sunday wedding down the shore?
