Okay so I have a question:

We're having a smaller wedding, about 100 people, the majority of those people are family - so my parents age (aunts, uncles etc). So for the dance I specifically chose mainly 70's-80's style music, because I think that's what will get the most people dancing. I have mixed in a little country, but I want people to know the music and want to dance. I only have a handful of friends my age who are coming, so I left out most modern music.

But. I do want to include a little hip hop/R&B to spice it up and have a few songs my friends would really love to dance to... but do you think it'd be a huge turn off to the majority of the guests who aren't in that age range?

I wouldn't pick anything vulgar or dirty, haha... but you know how the older generation gets around that kind of music...if it's anything like my parents ;)

    Some of my favorites are:

    Forever; Chris Brown

    Naturally; Selena Gomez

    Solo; Iyaz

    Replay; Sean Kingston

    Your Love is My Drug;Ke$ha

songs like that... not sure what other ones... Any ideas? Or is that a bad idea? thanks

I think those songs would be fine to play towards the end of the night or one mixed in every once in a while. My parents and their friends are in their 50s, but not dead to the world, so they would still recognize most of the songs, especially Forever.

I'm going to play Gold Digger because it bridges the gap between generations. Forever is also on my list, some Usher, Flo Rida, etc. My DJ will be the ultimate judge. If he plays a song that clears the floor, he will not play that type of song anymore. Are you having a DJ or ipod?

We're doing it off my lap top, it's a lot of music to buy haha but I already have a gigantic music collection so it's been fun going through all the music and making up my list.
