I love that stuff so as a guest, I wouldn't mind at all! If the foods good and most people like eating that type of food, then I say go for it!
I don't think it is a problem at all, we are seriously considering Mexican food buffet as well.
Is this a double post I am pretty sure I already commented that I LOVE mexican food!
I think it's really about how you present the food...if it's presented nicely then it won't seem tacky or anything. I mean if you have mexican food in taco bell wrappers, then that'd be tacky. But your food sounds delicious! As long as it's professional looking it won't be tacky at all.
I totally wanted to do a Mexican wedding buffet and I would do so if my friend wasn't going to cater it for super cheap. I'm not even mexican.
I think it soudns deliciious, it just really does not seem to fit with your theme. If you are really serious about the theme and vibe you want the wedding to give off, i think its prob the best if its carried off throughout. that being said, I'm not sure that I would notice anything was off if I wasnt planning my own wedding right now :-) Also, it really depends on your guests. If they are more down to earth, then no one will care at all! But if they are a more "luxurious" crowd, they might notice something being a little off. Good luck!!!
Me and my man LOVE LOVE LOVE mexican food and if our caterers we could choose from had that opion then you best bet we would totally go with it!
I think Mexican food is delicious! If I were a guest, I would look forward to that meal.
I love Mexican food more than I love breathing oxygen.
But, it just doesn't go. Can you adjust your 'theme' to give it a more cohesive vibe?
You're wedding is over looking the beach! Mexican food is TOTALLY appropriate as Mexico has incredible beaches!
I personally wouldn't want Mexican at my wedding, and I probably wouldn't enjoy it at anothers persons wedding.
Don't get me wrong, I love Mexican! But it's the sort of thing so many people eat so frequently, it wouldn't have an "impact" at a wedding.
It's definitely not tacky at all, I love the idea of Mexican at a wedding (I love Mexican food!) but I'm not sure it fits the whole "old hollywood glamour vibe" that you're going for. Having said that, I think it could definitely work if you tweak your theme a little so it ties in.
I don't think Mexican food at your wedding is tacky at all! However, I don't think it really goes with an "old hollywood" theme.

Ok so I need HONEST OPINIONS HERE!! My fiance and I are planning a gorgeous beach wedding on a cliff that has an "old hollywood glamour vibe" to it.......To go with the wedding "packages" its SIGNIFICANT amount more than if we were to "build our own" package so to speak.....the only problem with that is it's a buffet that we would have to be building on and the buffet would be chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas, carne asada and beans and rice. Is that tacky??? Mexican food is my favorite food however I kinda feel that clashes with the whole elegant themed wedding. It seems more of a kick back/ casual dinner. What do you think?? HELP! HONEST ANSWERS PLLLLEAAASEE
