@anuicupcake: Neither of them are really doing it for me to be honest. Sorry.

I LOVE that short dress.  I think that it’s more dramatic and chic than the second one…especially if you style it with a really clean big high chignon like the model (my favorite do).  The second is too dramatic for my taste.

If you can pull off the drama of the long one– do it!

i like #2, but the front hem looks very short and it shows off A LOT of boob. might not be appropriate.

Honestly – I’m really not a fan of either.  I really dislike the high-low hem look as a whole (especially really dramatic high-low hems) and that particular short dress doesn’t do anything for me.

That said – I think you’d be better off with a short dress for your reception dress.  There are a lot out there now that are just as bridal as floor length gowns so you shouldn’t have any problem finding one in a style you like.

ETA: Here are some example of some short dresses with a similar feel to the one you posted but that I think would be better potential option for you.

@anuicupcake: I like those that @FutureKMM posted, especially the third one – I love it. 😉

@anuicupcake: See, that’s funny, because the short one (1st) you posted to me is more of a summer cover up or beach date than a bride…. lol

@anuicupcake:what’s your budget? justin alexander and melissa sweet have some really cute short dresses, but they can get pricey. one consultant at a bridal shop told me short dresses tend to be more expensive because they need more luxurious fabrics and embellishments to differentiate them from bridesmaid dresses.

i think it just depends on your style. since your wedding is so far off, I suggest looking for a dress closer to the day of, because if you’re like me, your opinion on it will keep evolving, and you might end up with 3 different reception dresses!! haha, so yeah, take your time and keep your eyes open, dont commit unless you’re really sure which one fits your style and that you will be comfortable in. it’s your day, you gotta be happy!
