I am having a second dress for the reception so I am a huge fan! It's short and fun and HOT! I've heard from so many friends that they were overheated at their reception and their dress was really uncomfortable by the end of the night. I think a second dress is such a fun idea!

I was with eloping on this one.  I don't know how it will hang on you, but you don't want to scare the grandparents ;)

It looks cute, but kinda short. Honest opinion here. I dont know if my grandma would be too thrilled seeing me in that lol. Times have changed though!

I think it's really cute!  And at least in my experience, dresses are never as short on me as I see them online/in pictures/etc.; those models are usually pretty leggy!

It's really cute, but since it's so short dancing in it could be kind of dangerous...

I think it's super cute but it would be a tube top on me (6 foot) so definitely find out return policies, and talk to a seamstress about it first before you buy. Just incase you get it and you can't bend over in it with out a putting on a show lol!!

But other then that, so cute! :)

I agree it is short but I don't have the legs to wear that.  I found a really cute one at Alfred Angelo's I'm debating getting.

When the FI were in Hawaii we saw this bride freaking out because she was sweating and having trouble breathing and they were frantically trying to get her out of her dress.  She had a corset back and I'm sure it was just tied too tight.  But they sure were having trouble.  I felt sorry for her.

Since then I've thought about overheating in my dress.

Very cute but very short. Of course, the model may be 6 ft tall. So depending on your height, it may not be that short.

I think it is uber cute! I am short so dresses that look like that on models are the perfect length on me! I say Go For It if you aren't worries about the length!

As long as you have great legs. You also might want to see ho much it rides up when you sit down.

I LOVE this dress!  And I agree with others about hating being hot while dancing.

Buy the dress and have a tailor add a few inches of white fabric as a hem to the dress.  Add a few sparklies to coordinate with the bra and you have a winner!

Tell the tailor to add the new fabric by serging it on so there is no big seam or hem.  Plus it will keep.

Add only TINY clear rhinestones to keep the dress light and fluffy.

Get FOUR packets of 1-gross flatback rhinestones size 7ss in the color "CRYSTAL."  So get 4 gross total.

Most places (including bead stores and eBay) sell rhinestones by the packet and each packet contains 12 or 25.  You will need TONS of packets if you order from these places or buy at the bead stores.  This will be super expensive.

Do NOT get crystal AB.  They will not coordinate with your bodice at all.  AB means the crystal has been coated with Aurora Borealis (peacock) colors.  AB also means a little less sparkle.

Do NOT get a larger size than 7ss.  A bigger size will weigh down the dress and it will lose that gorgeous floaty look.  Tiny rhinestones look like fairy lights.

Do not get silver rhinestones.  Your bodice has crystal sparklies on it.  It looks silver in the pic because each crystal has a silver backing to it.

You will have some rhinestones left over to replace lost ones in the future.  You might even want to add a thin line of bling around the holes of your peep-toe cocktail shoes.  (Ask which glue is needed for leather.)

Buy your rhinestones at www.TheEggeryPlace.com  Kathy knows all about attaching rhinestones to clothes.

Phone in your order.  You need advice so ask to speak to the Kathy directly.

Tell her you will be dry cleaning the dress later.  Tell her the fiber content of the fabric you will use for the hem.  She will tell you whether to buy heat-set flatbacks or flatbacks that you glue on.  She will sell the right glue to you and tell you how to apply the crystals.  (If you aren't crafty, find a gal who is.)

Note that heat melts syntethics but works great on some silk.  That's why you have to tell Kathy the exact fiber makeup of the fabric so she can advise you on whether to use glue or heat fix.

If you need to glue them on, order her rhinestone applicator tool.

Apply the rhinestones in a random pattern, not on a grid.  Random = fairylights.

One more reason to add a few inches - Many of your older female relatives view a wedding as a religious Rite of Passage.  A few inches of hem will keep them happy.

btw - I design and make all my own evening clothes and I like bling.  That's why I know the rhinestone stuff.

    I WANT your dress!

It is very cute, but it's pretty short.  Also, not knowing your figure, I'd recommend maybe looking for a dress with straps if the only reason you're getting it is for dancing.  Yanking your top up isn't fun :)

It's kinda short for a formal event, in my opinion. But it is pretty cute.

It's super short and it's too short for me, BUT if you like it, I think you should go for it.

I don't get the whole "reception dress" idea. If you bought a beautiful wedding dress, why not wear it? Now, I do like the idea of an after-party dress though.

It's super cute! However, I feel like I would feel like tinkerbell in it! I have long legs, so... it would be WAY too short for grandma to approve!

LIKE!! Where do you buy this dress from? I'd really be interested :)

Edit: Nevermind I just saw the link!

P.S. I don't think it's too short....my grandma would probably love me in a reception dress like that! Haha!
