well, we're using Like a Virgin - so maybe I can't comment on yours?? LOL
I say go for it! If it is something the two of you love, then everyone else will be able to tell and they will love it too! Mine and my hubby's song is "500 miles" by the proclaimers and we just knew we HAD to use it in our wedding so we used it as our recessional song and it was a hit!! Go with what makes you happy!
@GroovyHippieChick: hahah awesome!!
The input makes me feel so much better!!
Go for it! Although, to be honest, I don't know ANYONE who wouldn't get the reference....older people were young once, too! :P
@Juliepants: haha oh, I know. I just meant I would assume most people probably woudln't even listen that closely. Although I definitely do have some family members that I'm sure would be all "uhh...what? I don't get it". But, the vast majority is "in on it" in terms of the reference haha. Oh, my mom will be so proud ;)

FI and I were joking around in the car this weekend and "Mary Jane" by Rick James came on my iPhone and we cracked up. That song is such an inside joke between us, after we were once watching "Friday" and the scene with that song came on and FI said "This song reminds me of you, aren't you proud" (yes, we may occasionally partake in/enjoy Mary Jane). Ever since then we laugh whenever we hear it.
Problem is, I actually like the song!! It's got a good funky sound and I just really like it! We joked that we should use it as our reception entrance song. Is that in bad taste?? Not everyone would even pick up on it, but I'm not a huge fan of lots of R&B or Rap or other popular songs today that are used for reception entrances. Plus, I'm kind of awful at dancing and this song is much more my speed ;) hahah. I don't know...I just like it!
