Hi Ladies! I am sure there is some formal etiquette out there about this, but so much of that is broken now, that i was wondering what you all think. Is it okay (or not) to include the reception info and address on the main invitation piece? I was thinking of putting it right below the ceremony info and "dinner and dancing to follow" for two reasons.

    1. it will save me from having to make another insert about this information.

    2. i personally always just grab the main invite page and not the little inserts when I go to a wedding or look up directions, so I wanted to make it as convenient as possible for my guests to not miss anything.

Or, am I supposed to not mention it at all and simply put it in my program for people to find out about on the wedding date itself? I would like to put my reception site on the invite in order to give people a heads up. Also because I love the reception venue and want to let our guests have a feel for what type of celebration/mood we will be hosting. The ceremony is at a church, but the reception is at a very modern museum/cultural center.

Thank you for your help and advice!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting the reception info on the invite (unless you are going the ultra-formal route, at which point etiquitte gurus say that you do need an additional note).

It saves paper, and may even save you on postage :).

I'm with you on this one. I'm definitely putting the reception information on the invite. Our wedding is going to be pretty casual so a separate card would just be way too fussy for us.

I'll be putting the reception information on the invitation and putting the ceremony info on a separate insert (bc I will be having 2!).
