So we are having a meeting with the venue on Tuesday and I can’t decide –
We’re having a big Italian wedding. Keep in mind FI’s family and my dad are very old-school and food/drinks=most important. Guests come first and we are there to take care of them. Open bar, four course Italian feast and gigantic espresso/dessert/cheese bar are planned.
Before the dinner at cocktail hour we are having a reception line to greet our 500+ guests.
do we serve:
prosecco (Italian version on champagne) on trays
liqueur shots (amaretto/alize/grappa) on a table
there will be biscotti/treats with the drinks for empty stomachs

If money is no problem, I would do both. It would make the guests and your father happy.

I’m Italian and know that my family would appreciate both if the budget allowed. Have you thought about Sambuca or limoncello being served? I know some venues offer a cordial cart when the coffee/tea/espresso is served, so maybe this can all be incorporated? Or even incorporate some common Italian spirits into signsture cocktails? There is this delicious one that uses Prosecco, Pellegrino sparkling water, St Germain liqueur and I believe lemon juice…..it is so delicious!!
