Hello there!
I am new here too.
Check out Bucksteep Manor, www.bucksteepmanor.com It is up in the Berkshires, a rustic inn and we will be married there next June. We just went up today for our second visit. There is a ton of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, 22 guest rooms , an old barn with a bar....it is rustic but really cool.
There website isn't the best, but I have more pics I took today if you are interested.
Let me know more about what type of site you are looking for and perhpas i cna help you more. :-)

Wow, that is on track with what I am looking for! Thank you for the great suggestion! I would love to see the pictures you took because I agree their website doesn't have a lot of detail. I will send you an e-mail.
What is the secret to finding these places? I feel like I could search all day and never find them... our VT favorite was a suggestion I got on the knot. BTW it is http://www.skisleepyhollow.com/
If I could move the whole place at least 2hrs closer to CT it would be perfect...
I just sent you an email.
Wow, that place in VT is awesome!! We thought about having our wedding in Maine or New Hampshire, both states we love and have spent a lot of time in, but the travel and trying to plan from a far would've driven me crazy!
I will send you an email with some other places you may want to check out.

We are having our reception at Tower Ridge Country Club in Simsbury. The prices were actually very reasonable. I'll definately have to let you know how everything turns out!
we are having ours at tyrone farm in pomfret. if you are trying to do a green wedding - this is it. it is incrediby beautiful - a magic little spot in connecticut. it is, however, kind of pricey. 7k for event only includes tables and chairs - no catering, bar or linens. they only do 15 weddings a year.
Here are a couple suggestions, mostly from good Googling, but also it just helps to know people, or talk to a wedding planner who can make some suggestions. They all specialize in "Wedding Weekends."
Club Getaway - Kent, CT

Hi I'm new here!
I just discovered this site and I am sure it will soon become an addiction!
Anyway, I live in South Carolina and I am trying to plan a wedding in the Northeast. I am from CT and my guy is from VT. So far, we have only been able to find locations we like in VT. My mother is not too happy about this - she wants us to have it a little closer to CT...
So, does anyone have any suggestions for me in CT? Or even RI or Mass.
We want to host a weekend-long event, since so many people will be traveling. We are looking for there to be a lot of things for people to do. For example, our top pick in VT is an inn that has their own network of mountain biking trails.
