Im having a hard time finding a venue that will allow me to self cater. my wedding is in september and im not to sure an outdoor recpetion will be permitted because of the weather.

any suggestions and please post links if possible

Are you just looking at Denver venues? How many people? Denver Parks and Rec have some good sites that let you pick your own caterer and have affordable rates: City Park Pavilion, Wash Park Boathouse, Molkery, Chief Hosa, etc. http://www.denvergov.org/parksandrecreation/RentaFacilityforSpecialEvents/tabid/430252/Default.aspx

There are good places outside the Denver area that let you choose your own caterer. I did some pretty extensive research before I booked our venue so I am happy to help!

I would definitely check out the City Park Pavilion and Wash Park Boathouse. They're outdoor pavilions but then you have some decent shelter in case the weather turns ugly. Reservations opened for both of these venues on the first of November last year, so I would get in touch with Denver Parks & Rec right away.

I wasn't familiar with that venue but just looked it up and it looks great! The only thing I noticed is that they do have their own liquor license, so you might have to buy drinks through them. Good luck!

I Dont want alchol served at my reception because some people are irresponsible when they drink and I really dont want that drama

If you like artwork, check out art galleries! I'm having my reception in September too, at the Space Gallery on Santa Fe. I feel that they're competitively priced, there's a lot of space, and we're bringing in all our own vendors. Hope that helps!
