Most planners I have talked to put together a preliminary timeline for you and your fiance to review. She should know how long things will take.
Mrs. Penguin also posted a good example of one last year. Check this out and see if it helps you:

Hi all!
So I was curious as to how everyone has done, or plans to do, their overall timeline for their receptions. Our wedding planner recently asked our input on this, and gave us some pointers, but we're unsure. We're having a pretty non-traditional wedding with a short ceremony, followed by cocktail hour, and then our reception. How have you tall timed your toasts, first dance, cake-cutting, etc? Did you, as the bride (and groom, too!) make a speech? I actually kind of wanted to start off the reception with a toast to my new family, but I didn't know if that would be weird. We're also not doing a bouquet/garder toss, but we ARE doing a family dance with mom's, dad's and uncles all in one song. We're also doing the first dance.
I've love to hear examples/suggestions!
