- Wedding: October 2012
I was hoping you ladies might be able to give me some advice regarding planning out the day..
We are getting married and having our reception at the same place (an old house turned into a bar) and it starts at 3pm. We have the place until 8pm, although the owner said if there were still people drinking and hanging out, we could stay til 9pm. We are serving an early-ish bbq dinner, and having trays of snacks. We are cutting the cake and doing a champagne toast. My fiance and I are doing a first dance, a bride-father dance, and a groom-mother dance, but we don’t have a dj or dancing set up per se. (We’re not huge dancers). So I think I have two options..
3pm – 4pm ceremony + pictures (he doesn’t want to do a first look)
4pm-5pm cocktail hour, mingle, snack
5pm – 630pm – serve dinner, drink, mingle some more
630pm – cake cutting + serving (how long does this all take? 30 mins?)
7pm – first dances
7 30pm – 8 or 830pm – mingle, take pics, drink, etc
Move the dances up to right after the ceremony and shorten the cocktail hour?
