- Wedding: July 2013
My wedding is less then a week and I need opinions of my reception timeline!! Our ceremony and reception are in the same location so no one has to travel. It looks like this.
3:50pm: Receiving line
4 pm: Cocktail Hour
4:55 pm: An announcement should be made for guests move to the room where dinner will be served and are seated.
5:00 pm: Bridal Party Announced / Couple Announced
5:05 pm: First Dance the DJ announces the couple’s first dance.
5:15pm: Toasts by parents, best man, and maid of honor
5:30pm: dinner service begins (toasts will probably still be going on)
6:15pm: bride/groom do table visits (mpt sure if we will since we are having a receiving line)
6:30pm: Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Dances (together)
6:45pm Cake Cutting Cake served with coffee
7:00pm: Grooms dance with his Aunt/god mother (special dance)
7:05pm: Dancing Begins
9:00pm: Bouquet Toss (not actuallty sure I am going to do it)
9:45pm: Last Dance
I feel like it’s not quite right and I’m not sure why. Anyone have any suggestions? My caterer was the one who said to serve the cake so early but I feel like there should be some dancing or something before cake which I told him and he still said to serve the cake before dancing so I felt like I had to just say fine. SO basically from 7pm until 10pm it’s just dancing and drinking
