To not interfere with the few, as well as incorporating candlelight, I'd go with shorter centerpieces.

Hello!
I have selected our reception venue and although small it is very beautiful being the penthouse of a hotel. My question to the beehive is should I have tall or short centerpieces? Originally I was planning on tall centerpieces but I wonder if that would interfere with the great view. The ceilings are pretty tall but the room is very small (only fitting about 40 people). The one thing I am sure of is I want lots of candelight. If anyone has any ideas let me know :)
